Safety, style and fuel economy important as I was giving up my Suburban. This car rides smoother than my bosses' 70m Mercedes and outside of having a GPS has close to the same anmenities. Took on trip to hills 2nd day, handled with ease, husband rode in the back and watched a DVD and said that he was never more comfortable. I can assure you the warning information works. Power Steering warning came on 2nd day-its in the shop being replaced. Service said they have had a lot of recent 2004 GMC's in for this. Also, CD player got stuck for 2 days-old cd's
Favorite Features
Message information center; gas and brake adjustment so my seat setting doesn't get lost; dvd; recling backseats, remote start, eveything about it. Fold down seats; ac/dc volt in back for invertor for sons playstaion. Enjoy!
Suggested Improvements
Visability when backing out of parking stalls; rear window wiper; cargo panel cumbersome; that service knew about the power steering issues and for some reason "sales department" didn't? Glad I wasn't on a trek to Disneyland when it failed. Always something with new vehicles!
Finally...wow

We researched and read for almost 3 months, trying to find a CAR that could do what our S-10 did but be able to haul 4 REAL people when not hauling cargo. Hello Maxx! Leather, automatic climate controls, remote start, adjustable pedals. I feel like a million bucks when I'm driving this car. I, for one, like the styling of the Maxx, it's just perfect. I'm still trying to get use to a car who's front hood is visible when driving but I like the beefy look of it and, in my humble opinion, the back end is just plain sexy. Four big doors for easy entry/exit, the sliding rear seats and very appreciated center rear arm rest are fantastic.
Favorite Features
The 4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes are powerful and confidence building. The back seat is my favorite place to be. Asked my wife to drive me around so I could enjoy it. WOW! Great V-6 torque (220 ft/lbs) at a low 3200 RPM. No screaming engine when hauling 4 adults around town. Very quiet.
Suggested Improvements
I would like crisper handling. It's an incredible leap over that S-10 we traded in but not as responsive as our Saturn SL2.
I like the MAXX

We have only had our Maxx for a short time now, but enjoy it. We have taken a short 1 hour road trip, and found it really comfortable. We bought the LT 1SA package. Depending on the wife, I hope we keep the car.
Favorite Features
DVD for the kids, as well as the rear sunroof. However the shades need to be improved.
Suggested Improvements
I think if you read all of the suggested improvements you will find one that matches your own. The shades as stated above. Also, if you like to have an audio/video system that is different than the stock you may loose the Car Computer, as mentioned in another review.

ITs a nice car for the money. It rides smooth and is peppy not fast but has enough power. Interior needs some work but overall I like it nice buy. I have 1055 miles on mine.

While this is not the hi-performance, head-turning, muscle of our dark blue 2004 Maxx has drawn looks, even from a group of teen boys who said it was "a cool car." The technology is quite a step up from the 1991 Grand Am it replaces, or our 1994 S-10 Blazer, so it has taken some getting use to, and a lot of checks of the owner's manual to figure out everything in it. It handles almost as good as our 1987 Z28 and has very good acceleration for a V6 of only 3.5 liters (big step up from the Blazer's 4.3-liter V6.) Got about 33 mpg on our first 900-mile trip at mostly 65 mph four-lane travel. Very quiet, low road noise. A fog light optio

Front power sunroof is fun. Got model w/o DVD, but the rear radio/CD plug-in access in handy for those with diverging music tastes. Seats surprisingly comfortable though spartan and slightly hard, but overall door panels, interior, etc. seemed not as lush as the Grand Am we rep
Suggested Improvements
Don't like the dimmer switch. Too far away to conveniently push forward and pull back if you have smaller hands. Weak center console hinge will fail early, its latch is too far back to conveniently use that arm to open it unless seat is fully back. Should offer rear deck spoiler and/or

Liked the concept, wife did not. test drove an Aztek and a Vue, looked @ some others and then to shut me up Wifey test drove the Maxx. Nuff said, two hours later it was in our driveway. We have two small kids, you can not beat the rear seats and remote starts, love getting in the cool car! (wish now we went for the LT)

If you want good power and very good fuel economy look no further. This is a very comfortable vehicle to drive smooth and quiet. It is suprising that the Malibu is the quietest car GM makes? Go figure is is quieter than any of the currently available Cadillacs. Safety was a concern of mine but all the data thus far seems to indicate that this is a very safe car. I was driving a Honda Accord EX before this car which was a great car, but I think Chevrolet has been trying for years to measure up to Honda and Toyota and has never been able to get the job done until now. Now they have the better car inside and out.
Favorite Features
XM Radio, 5th door, DVD, 3.5 V6 and of course remote start. One thing is the the XM literature indicated that the radio may not work outside the US.
Suggested Improvements
I wish they would have used a glass dual diversity antenna like they do in other GM vehicles. I realize it is in the rear window but they seem to work well and don't snap at the car wash.
