We have always had either large vehicles or sports cars , this vehicle fits both of our needs and is fun to drive. We did have a problem with the head rests but all you have to do is take them out and turn them around, very comfortable and pretty fast

Favorite Features

Tilt, Power pedals , Cargo space and preety quick, reached 125 mph with no problem

Suggested Improvements

better stereo and larger wheels

2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LT 4dr Hatchback (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

This vehicle is a nice design with many great features. The build quality is suspect since it has numerous rattles all over.

Favorite Features

Sliding rear seats. Hatchback design.

Suggested Improvements

Build better. Most of us hate rattles, especially in a car on which we spent more than $25K.

2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LS 4dr Hatchback (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

We traded our 2003 Ford Expedition for the Maxx for better fuel mileage. After driving the Maxx for almost 12,000 miles; our family enjoys the ride, comfort and most importantly the fuel economy. We still miss the Expedition, but we are reminded we made the right choice when we are at the pump.

Favorite Features

The hatchback, a SUV trait. Also, the back seats have the same amount of room as the front. The kids enjoys the moon roof in the rear.

Suggested Improvements

I wish the seats were all leather. Not sold on the high tech fabric...yet.

No problems to report, no quality issues. Finding the V6 has plenty of power. Ride and handling are great for a car in this price range.

Rebates and discounts got me this $23,150 Maxx LS with preferred package for an even $13,000. I priced them for months and waited until the time was right. This vehicle has a great blend of features for performance, comfort, economy, etc.

Favorite Features

Too soon to tell, but the remote start, reclining rear seats, smooth ride, and economy sure come to mind.If the driver cant get comfortable with power seat & pedals, tilt & telescoping steering wheel, and lumbar seat back,....something is wrong somewhere!

Suggested Improvements

Neutral interior color is very light. Car needs mud flaps. Headrests are VERY uncomfortable

2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LT 4dr Hatchback (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I just purchased my 2004 Malibu Maxx LT last week. A lot of features that are found on luxury sedans came standard on the LT; heated/power leather seats, remote start, rear sky light, and lots of safety features. The Maxx shares the Epsilon platform with the Saab 9-3 so it has a tight, tuned feel. The 210 HP-V6 engine gives the Maxx some power off the line.

Favorite Features

Heated Leather Seats, XM radio, rear DVD player, hatch-back style for cargo room.

2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LS 4dr Hatchback (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

We replaced our 98 Malibu with this new Maxx. There is an impressive amount of car here for the money when combined with all the rebate. This car is very quiet, responsive and powerful. The construction of this car is much more solid then anything GM we have seen before. Our biggest complaint is some initialy quality issues. We had a squeaky lift gate (dealer has not fixed), and an innacurate gas gage (dealer fixed by replacing tank). I find the reviews including edmunds don't give enough credit to the power with great gas mileage on REGULAR fuel, with the cost of gas very important to us. There are a lot of good ideas in this car and amazing amount of technology.

Favorite Features

Hatchback opening and storeage space. The V6's power and economy. Corners confidently. Quiet and smooth at high speed. Sliding and reclining rear seat!

Suggested Improvements

Overall build quality, initial problems should have been taken care of! Do not integrate stereo with car display system (no way to replace this stereo with aftermarket when it fails or you want an upgrade). Electric power steering does not offer right feedback, needs more work.

Review

I recently turned in my Jeep Liberty after test driving the Malibu Maxx. I fell in love with it as soon as I got behind the wheel. I must admit though, I was nervous about getting a car after years of riding high in an SUV. BUT, in the Maxx I don't feel like I'm riding too low. I have a long commute to work and the XM radio saves me from the boring talk radio! The heated seats in Michigan are a must!

Favorite Features

XM, Heated Seats, Moonroof, skylights, leg room (front and rear), MPG, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, controls on steering wheel and remote starter!!

Suggested Improvements

Closing the rear hatch is inconvenient as well as getting use to the gas tank being on the passenger side. Very minor improvements to a great car!!

Review

Overall, pretty happy with the car...low payments for a reliable car that has great get up and go.

Favorite Features

Love the V6, very easy to drive, love the hatch area - can move the "table" up or down.

Suggested Improvements

Engine occasionally to rev by itself when first started. Do not like the headrest-it is tilted too far forward and cannot be adjusted. It would be perfect if I could just tilt the headrest back a little. Hatch door is hard to shut...you really have to slam it so "door ajar" light do
