Brake Pad Issue
I just changed rear brake pads of my 2005 Malibu. As of today I have changed rear pads twice. One at 22k, and toady at 48k. I was very upset. I bought it in August 2005. In November 2007, I changed rear pads because one of a pair completely worn out while others looked like new. Chevy dealer didnt explain what was wrong. I strongly suspected that something was wrong. ... Read More...

Chevrolet Malibu vs. Toyota Camry vs. Honda Accord
Re: bvdj84 [wayne52]
To sum up your post (I think), GM = making great strides, Honyota = marking time at best. I agree completely. I don't personally feel that the Accord got any better with the current generation over the previous one. The problem for GM there is/was that the Malibu was easily a couple of generations behind quality-wise, so even though it improved drastically from ... Read More...
5th place?
The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu hits a high-water mark for its size and price with taut proportions, elegant lines and a crisp, clean profile. Its split grille represents the new global face of Chevrolet cars, and its twin round taillamps are traditional Chevy cues. With tight panel gaps and rich-looking details, this new mid-size Chevy looks like $40,000 while ... Read More...
Re: [winz]
Winz, A friend of mine that has been successful in Small Claims Court suggested us to do this: Have documentation of all of GM service center trips and phone calls to the national customer service line (with their final say that they will not repair the car for you. Also have a copy of the GM Bulletin Number: 060601025 about the 2007 Malibu shake (available inline). ... Read More...
Chevy Malibu Buy Back & dealing with the BBB
I bought my 2007 Malibu 4 cyl new in December 2007. At about 2400 miles I noticed a vibration or shake in the front end when I accelerate.. It happens at 15 mph regardless of shifting, usually after warmup. This problem was not seen to occur on 2005 or 2006 models. They changed the motor mounts on the 2007 Malibu (although they may have done this on same late-model 2006 ... Read More...

Chevrolet Malibu MPG-Real World Numbers
Re: Chevrolet Malibu Owners: MPG-Real World Numbers [jaj1701]
Wow. Lots of questions. I was once pretty active on the, er, some other car enthusiasts forums, one of which is all about GM. I believe the Electric Power Steering went away for all V6 cars for the 2007 model year. That was the year that Chevrolet moved from the LX9 3.5l V6 (no VVT) to the LZ4 3.5l VVT V6 for the 2007 model year. The EPS had some issues for the first two years, ... Read More...

Hello, I know the VVT v6 was introduced in MY 2007......when did the Electronic Power Steering disappear for the 6cyl? Looking at the revised EPA Numbers are as follows for the MAXX 3.6.... Re: 2007 Malibu Vibration Problem [1988fierogt]
To: 1988fierogt, Last week, I took the car to a sympathetic Chevy dealer. The service manager even gave me a rental car for a day since I was there last spring and there was no fix. My car was OK until it hit 2500 miles and now at about 8000 it still has the problem. The dealer noticed the problem, although it had settled down and is sometimes difficult to feel. You must ...
