2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LT 4dr Hatchback (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
My wife and I started from NJ with a drive through Pa., Va., and now into Tennessee, with Arknsas, Oklahoma, Texas, NM and Tucson ahead. Maxx as been fuel efficient, carrying needed luggage for the trip plus a 4 day stay at the Opry Land Hotel and room to spare. Our ride has been comfortable, handling a dream and peppy enough to feel comfortable easing into lanes on Rte's 81 and 40, truckers and all. Visibility is good, braking effective. Surprising seating room inside for what is essentially a small vehicle on the outside. All in all, a serendipity among the brands and models. We are enjoying Maxx on the road!
Mileage and acceleration are both pleasant surprises.Interior room is ample. Visibility is comforting. Ample interior luggage space with back seats down for a long trip. Inerior finish is reasonably attractive. Handling on the road is responsive and driving is easy.
A few luxuries, like directional signals on exterior mirrors. Our adjustable driver seat could be more flexible. Adjustable steering wheel lever seems placed incoveniently and is a knee bumper. This is a great car for all wheel drive. Would make the small Subaru obsolete.
