Go to "chevy.com" and register on their website. You can order manuals thru them or view on-line. I just looked it up myself on the 1998 Lumina I recently purchased.

Beware of your engine and gaskets
Written by: pvnguyen on Sep 16, 2002 9:17:14 PM
I've been a loyal customer of GM. I currently own a 2002 Buick Rendezvous, 2000 Pontiac Montana, 1998 Buick Regal, and 1996 Chevy Lumina. I think everyone should know that GM sucks! I replaced the Lumina's engine last year due to a coolant leak at 65K ($5.5K). Earlier this year, I replaced the gaskets on the Regal due to a coolant leak ($750) and this past week, I replaced the the ... Read More

Hi Majikjenie

This information may be too late for your purchase of the 1998 Lumina you were looking at. I drove a 1998 Lumina LTZ for 3 years and really enjoyed it except for one major problem. The problem is that I'm only 5'1 and had to sit very near the steering wheel in order to reach the pedals. While driving my LTZ for three years (overall, it was a great car!) I ... Read More

Chevrolet Lumina 1998
Written by: majikjenie on Feb 7, 2001 6:20:04 PM
I'm considering purchasing a chevrolet lumina 1998. It has 9000 miles on it and am concerned about the steering wheel being too close to the chest area (I'm 5'0 foot)and have to sit close to the steering wheel to reach the pedals comfortably. In event of a front collision the bag would employ with such force as to hit the chest possibly causing the heart to stop. Similar to a judo ... Read More

NASCAR

Hey there NASCAR, had a 1998 Lumina LTZ for a three year lease commencing in Aug of 1997. Over all, it was a great car. Mine had the 3.8 V6 and was loaded and was super reliable. Jump at the chance to get one if it's still available. The leather seat padding was a bit too thin for my liking however. But, that was basically the only problem. Was looking to ... Read More

1995 Chevy Lumina LS
Written by: montana17 on Nov 19, 2000 11:06:42 PM
Well I'll place my .02 in here as well. I purchased my Lumina brand new in 1995 with the 3.4 L V6, ABS and Control-Trac. Now it has +140,000 miles on it and it still rides smooth and quietly. I have never had to buy a new tranny. It's age is starting to show now.I have had to replace the alternator, (out of my pocket, warranty expired in 1998), earlier it ... Read More

I had just purchased a 1998 Chevy Lumina three days ago. I had just recieved it tonight and had been driving in it for the last three hours now. I am very happy with the ride, and also the look of the car. My wife wanted a mini van, for practical purposes, but I decided on the Lumina ultimatly. I find it is good for trucking around my daughter, and really ... Read More

CANADIAN DIFFERENCES
Written by: tomaso3 on Jun 30, 2000 8:05:39 PM
After reading over 100 letters I feel I have to tell you all about the differences in Canada. Perhaps the differences remain the same for some of the Lumina Models. I understand that most Luminas were made in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The 1999 model year was the last to be sold in Canada, however for the US market, Oshawa still made the 2000 Lumina base model for fleet cars. I hear ... Read More

Just bought a Lumina - my thoughts
Written by: luminary on Dec 11, 1999 10:40:23 PM
After a lot of car research, I purchased a 1 year old 1998 Chevrolet Lumina LTZ. Here I'll share a bit of what I learned in the process of selecting and driving this car. First, please be aware that the LTZ is what makes this Lumina a great car for me. With the LTZ option package you get four wheel anti-lock brakes, the sport suspension package, and the 3800 Series II ... Read More
