Looked at Camry and Avalon, but bought the Impala. Avalon is, in my opinion, overpriced at a 50% price premium. Chevy had a bench seat/no console option, which I favored. Nice sized truck, good power to pass on 2 lane roads, very good fuel mileage for the size of car, good comfort. Overall, very happy with car.
Fuel mileage (29.7 average for first 15000 miles, includes running at 75-80 at times). Very large trunk.
Ride is a bit stiff, but compensating factor is very good handling in turns. I will look forward to how it handles in the snow. Somewhat loose in heavy rain, but this is I suspect a function of the cheap Goodyear tires, which I have just (yesterday) replaced with BF Goodrich.
