Re: 2008 Impala tire wear [viennabob162]
Written by: ryster on Nov 28, 2009 5:35:46 PM
Chevy has looked into a rear alignment issue on late model Impalas. There may be a camber related issue causing premature wear on the inner edge of the rear tires. These issues are usually resolved by installing a camber bolt kit on the rear wheels and having them realigned.

Thanks for the reply to my posting. I am glad that you have had good luck with your Impala. I am not anti Chevy, I also own a 2006 Cobalt LT that is probably the best car I ever owned. After my problem surfaced I spent hours on the Internet to find out whether or not mine was an isolated case. It is not, and if you are interested try the ... Read More

2008 Impala tire wear
Written by: viennabob162 on Nov 27, 2009 8:05:40 PM
I purchased a 2008 Chevy Impala LT on 12/26/08, from a dealer. The car had 15, 200+ miles. I also bought an extended warranty. I drove the car to Florida, drove it around there for four months and then back home to upstate New York. Except for a once a month spin of a few miles to keep the car clean and active, it sat in my driveway. I put a ... Read More

Any Options for me?

I purchased my 2008 Chevy Impala LT in May of 2008. Within a couple of months, the Check Engine light came on due to an emissions sensor. I figured cars aren't perfect, so I had it serviced. It have been to the deal 7 times within 17 months of owning this car. I have had it. It happened 4 times in the first year, and I would have qualified for a ... Read More

Hi lew. This car's lease payment will vary depending upon what its MSRP and selling price are. You never mentioned what either of these prices are in your post, so I will have to make some assumptions in the sample lease payment that I work up for you. For now I will assume that you are interested in 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS that has an MSRP of $31,215 and a selling ... Read More

Hey Lisa. GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with 12,000 miles per year are 2.35% and 55%, respectively. General Motors is currently providing $300 lease cash and $1,000 bonus cash on this model. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Car_man, I am looking for an Impala lease again and was hoping you could help me with some information. I am interested in a 2008 Chevy Impala LS lease for 36 months/36,000 miles. I will be leasing in Nevada if that matters. Could you tell me the residual? Base lease rate/buy rate? Any lease cash available? Thanks for all your help, Lisa

Were now at the end of the current model year production and offers will come up to clear out the 07s as after every car year when the next year model goes into production. 2008 Impalas can be ordered now. There is a guy on ebay selling the 2008 Chevrolet Impala brochure (50th anniversary) of the Impala.

The 2006 Impala was a big improvement over the previous 00-05 models. Chevrolet has come a long way in reliability in the past few years, and service department personnel dealing with customer complaints are improving. but the competition isn't sitting still either. Improvements have to be made on a continual basis. The 5 year powertrain warranty now in effect is an improvement, but the basic car warranty is still 3 years ... Read More

With the 2008 Malibu growing to almost the size of the current Impala, I can't see Chevy offering two FWD cars that similar (both in size and price). Methinks if the RWD Impala dies, the Impala dies (at least for the short-term).

Bob Lutz indicated today that the future RWD Impala is now on hold, until they figure out if its possible to build the car to meet the stringent Emission/Cafe standards coming in a few years. GM indicated the RWD car could be a much as 30% heavier then the current model. If they don't ... Read More

According to GM, Chevrolet sold 289,868 Impalas for 2006. There is another site that says 290,432. A few months back I was on a GM website and Ed Peper Chevrolets general manager said 2006 Impala SS sales were 18% of the total impala sales for the calendar year 2006. Higher then expected. 2005 Impala SS sold about 10% of total Impala sales. Autotrader has several used LOADED 2006 Impala SS cars ... Read More

Sales of the current Monte Carlo have been dismal and the car discontinued in 2009. The Impala name plate was very popular in NASCAR racing from the late 50s through the early 60s. The current (Nov. 06) issue of Motor Trend has info on the upcoming RWD 2010 Impala (based on the same platform as the Camaro). I wasn't particularly wowed by the renderings in the magazine (not nearly as many retro cues as I was led to believe there would be), but if you like the notion of the Camaro but need the practicality of a sedan, the 2010 Impala might be worth ... I said a few posts back that the 2006 Impala is equal to the competition, even though I believe the Camry/Accord should compete with the Malibu. Longevity and resale value is what the Japanese cars are all about. If you trade an Accord/Camry within the first 5 years your will pocket more money in resale value then GMs comparable offerings. Check it out. If you keep an Accord/Camry long term their ... Read More

2006 Impala

Its a possibility to see the 6 speed for the Impala for 2008. If thats the case, it would only serve the 3.5 and 3.9 because the 6 speed thats developed cannot accomodate high torque that the SS 5.3 V8 produces. If GM fast tracks the new RWD Impala for the 09 model year then it wouldn't make sense to spend the tech money for a 6 speed for 1 or ... Read More

Its interesting over the years the Chevrolet Impala has carved a very important history for General Motors. From the 1958 until the present 2006 Impala the public loves them. GMs biggest problem were their small cars. Many of GMs small cars were built on the cheap to compete at that time with the fast rising Japanese market that started flooding the United States. If Chevy doesn't offer a 6 speed in their 6 cylinder Impalas for 2007, I doubt they will spend money to put it into the 2008 which could be the last year of the current Impala platform. You won't see any interior changes or significant upgrades to the Impala until the next generation cars. There might be one or two new exterior colors and maybe an additional color for the interior but that will be about it. We must not forget that Chevrolet is the entry car division of GM. Buicks would compare more to Camry/Avalon upscale interiors. GMs focus is now on the RWD or AWD 2009 ... Read More

If you are considering an Impala SS wait until June (if you can) and order a 2007. There will be some improvements but nothing major. The current glitches affecting the 2006 will probably been taken care of. Waiting just 3 months will also give you a car a model year newer as well. If you can wait 15 months order a 2008 Impala SS. The Buick vehicles have been delayed, it's my understanding. The GTO is now first up for MY 2007, with the Chevy coupe also likely MY2007. Don't know if the G8 will be 2007 or 2008 MYs.
