I recently purchased a 2007 Chevy Uplander with the 3.9 liter engine and it started leaking coolant at 57k miles. It was the cross over pipe gasket. Apparently this gasket and the head gasket are common problems with GM's 3.5 and 3.9 liter engines. My vehicle also had the head gaskets replaced at about 50k miles, just before I had purchased it. GM has a TSB about these problems which explain ... Read More
Hi, My Impala LT 2007 just did the same thing as your car did today (actually about 2 hours ago). I am so upset right now I don't know what to do. So, this is the solution - sort of ... if you take a paperclip - lift the headrest, on one of the round plastic holders there is a little hole - shove the paper clip in there to release it, lower the head rest and then raise it all the way up (works better with 2 people) ... Yes, it was standard. You need to get original GM remotes and have them programmed. Ebay is a GREAT source for them. The general link: http://motors.search.ebay.com/impala_Keyless-Entry-Remote-Fob_W0QQcatrefZC6QQcoa- ctionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQdfspZ2QQfposZ19087QQfromZR2QQfso- oZ2QQfsopZ2QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQmppfqyZimpalaQQsabfmtsZ1QQsacatZ33723QQsadisZ200QQs- aobfmtsZinsifQQsargnZQ2d1QQsaslcZ2QQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZbs And one of the specific ones (that particular remote was for a variety of cars). Yeah you do have a point here, but only thing is that the 2008 malibu has grown in size to that of almost the current impala. Got a 2007 Impala or just looking now? Talk about this year's model here.
The 5 year warranty on the 2007 chevrolets is a powertrain warranty only. The basic coverage warranty is still 3 years/36,000 miles on all other components. When GM put this new 5 year powertrain warranty into affect several months ago they also increased the retail prices of their vehicles. You get what you pay for.

So I spoke with about 6 dealers in my area today, most of which stated to me that a $30,800 vehicle invoices at $29,000 or so. They can sell me the car at invoice plus $1000 factoy rebate to get me at $28,000. I had about 4 of them tell me that, they stated there is no more money to put in to that car and no reason to go in ... Read More

Too late.... Today I faxed about 33 dealers. I realized after the fact that I might have left out some info, but the letter basically went like this. Greetings, My name is _______ and I am looking to purchase a 2007 Impala SS at a price of $24,350.00. My first color option is Black on Black with the second Color option being White (Interior not important). Please call me directly at ... Read More
The problem with the Impala is the huge 1st year depreciation from list. A $30000 SS probably wholesales for 18000 if you're lucky after year 1. Just a plain jane impala wholesales 10k off list 1st year. This is due to the huge supply every year on the market from terminating leases, rental and fleet cars etc. $7000 off MSRP would by no means be giving the SS away, although I ... Read More

$5500 off msrp (17800) I would say is pretty good. Especially if it was with little effort. The bible(s) estimate the Impala (Msrp 23000) be a 14000-15000 car in a year so-- not too shabby. That color is cool too. Motoralley.com is a good site with ads from all over the country for many models. That seems to be one of the good deals. Things should improve more in sept-oct. The ... It is generally helpful to know the MSRP of the vehicle to know how much it is discounted. The Impala wholesales about 10-11k off list 1st year so the first year hit is a doosey. A constant inflow from lease, rental fleets and corporate fleets , keep this animal depreciating like a rock. About $2800 off would not excite me. (I assume msrp is around 26000). I would want about 5000-6000+ ... Read More
Chevrolet has issued a Technical Service Bulletin to fix the popping and clicking sounds coming from the dash. Next time you are at the dealer with the problem, mention the following TSB: 06-08-49-011 MAR 06 Interior - Dash Area Clicking/Ticking Noise At Warm Up The dash in my '06 makes the noises, but I have learned to live with it for now. Mine does it in the summer months when it ... Read More

"Who would keep a vehicle for 10 years or 200K? There is a small (and I believe growing) number of people who do." Yep.. gotta agree.. currently in my garage are two vehicles, a 2006 GMC Envoy and a 2007 Toyota Avalon.. however, when we bought the Envoy, we traded in a 10 year old Cadillac with 125k miles on it, and when we bought the Avy, I traded in a ... I currently drive a 2006 Impala LT (3.5L). My parents recently purchased a 2007 Mercury Montego Premier (traded in their 2003 Impala LS w/sport package). They were also shopping the Hyundai Azera, but the dealer had a $1,495 market adjustment on the Azera and low-balled the trade-in value. Compared to my Impala, the Montego is a much nicer vehicle overall. Exponentially better build quality and fit and finish. Interior materials sturdier ... Read More

It seems by many of the posters that they are not experiencing just a single problem with their 2006 Impalas but a multitude of many issues each. How frustrating is that. Reading previous posts of owners of 2000-2005 Impalas those that experienced problems were mostly single issues. Not very good testimonials for the current Impala.
