Some Problems
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala SS Supercharged 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl S/C 4A)
Review
This is a fun car to drive. We have had some problems with the engine/SS/fuel injectors. The car is still under warranty. The car begins to sputter driving over 40 mph when you hit the gas peddle. Also, the power steering seems to be going out. Something loose in the column and getting harder to turn when driving slower. Chevy dealers can't seem to find the problem.
Favorite Features
We love the SS in the engine. We love the sound system and the leather seats.

Impala a decent car for the money
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala 4dr Sedan (3.4L 6cyl 4A)
Review
While it isn't the Impala of the 60's the 2004 Impala is still a pretty decent car. Solid build structure (withstood a concrete truck backing into front end very well). Fuel economy is not excellent but good for a car this size. No major component breakdowns yet. Just quite a few more minor annoyances. Brake part frequent servicing,a number of worrying, but so far harmless, noises of varying types. Comfortable to drive, reasonable quite ride, good handling. Has been a 7.5 out of 10 on overall satisfaction. Lots of trunk space, especially with fold down rear seats. Standard stereo not outstanding but more than adequate. Exterior finish good to very good. Horn stinks, intend to replace it.
Favorite Features
I like the styling of the 2004. Interior is comfortable and reasonably quiet. Lots of trunk space. Engine not a powerhouse but is pretty good for pickup and excellent for cruising. Highway cruising with cruise control on I am getting around 30 miles to gallon. City driving about 22 miles to gallon.
Suggested Improvements
I don't know if my horn is original since I purchased slightly used, but it definitely needs a horn that works and sounds like a car horn. Most important problems though, make brake components better quality, and get rid of all those annoying whistles, thumps, and squeals from various front end parts.

'04 Impala LS
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala LS 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
My '04 Impala LS has performed great. I have taken it on long trips and gotten around 30 MPG at interstate speeds. I have no complaints and would buy another Chevy Impala again.
Favorite Features
Easy access controls on the steering column. Traction control is nice too on slick roads. Comfortable on long drives.
Suggested Improvements
Offer softer leather seats.

Overall Satisfaction

Very satisfied. Gas mileage not as much as I thought would be about 24 mpg. A few warranty issues with brakes and rotors, speedometer, steering column, paint chipping on volume button for steering wheel. Luckily everything covered under warranty. Very nice car otherwise
Favorite Features
Comfort, roomy, controls

Best Car I've owned so far
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala LS 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I've owned several cars, and I try to run them all until they give out. I've owned Ford, Isuzu, Nissan and others, but this car has been the best. I drive 70 miles a day round trip and love the handling, acceleration and comfort. Even though others have gotten more MPG, I only get 26 on the highway. Also, if you're over 6ft tall like me, you will love the leg room in both the front and back. The only problem I have with the vehicle is the stereo system. I know people today are into a lot of bass, but I like my sound well rounded. This system puts a too much bass for me, and is difficult to adjust to just the right amount. Minor problem for a great car.

Poor Quality Impala
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala LS 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This is our first new car and it has been a horrible car. The motor burned oil for the 1st 10,000 miles when the dealer finally agreed to fix it. The service writers just laugh when the car comes in. GM has even given it an extended warranty because of all the problems. The car is great to drive with all the options when it is holding together. The car was getting 31mpg hwy when they reflashed the computer and now it gets 24mpg and the dealer says that is OK. I am now selling the car. Impalas are great cars. But I won't buy GM for a while until GM and their dealers get it together.
Favorite Features
Leather heated seats. Great stereo. Good looks and a nice hwy cruiser if you don't mind stopping at every gas station.
Suggested Improvements
The dash does not fit tight at seams. Work on service after the sales.

Neat car
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala SS Supercharged 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl S/C 4A)
Review
I purchased this vehicle in Aug 2003 when it first came out. I now have 72,000 miles on it and no complaints. It has only needed basic service. It needed new tires at 50K and new brakes at 60K. Only normal service issues. Three car seats fit in the back. Cornering has been excellent, expressway driving has been excellent 30+ mpg at 70 mph. Local driving averages 25 mpg. Could use a better sound system.
Favorite Features
Heated seats warm up before heater, nice! Engine never dies, keeps increasing speed.
Suggested Improvements
XM should be traded in for Sirus. Sound system needs an upgrade

Great car at a great price

2004 Chevrolet Impala 4dr Sedan (3.4L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I pruchased this car with 25,000 miles, and have put 36,000 on myself. The most major repair has been the replacement of lubricant in the steering shaft, cost a whole $100. I am ecstatic with my gas mileage. I drive 500 miles a week, and I average 28 to 32 miles per gallon. Runs smooth with a great ride. Very minor road noise but nothing major. For a car with only 180hp, it does move when you want it to. It has great styling, I love the design of the dash and gauges. The outside has a great apperance and stance. I have added some custom floor mats and upgraded the stereo by a lot. I will be adding tint and rims soon! However, if you're planning on an Impala, get one with an autodimming mirror!
Favorite Features
The styling, performance, handling, ride quality, and fuel economy.
Suggested Improvements
It needs a better stock stereo, an autodimming mirror, and a more comfortable driver's seat.

Great car
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Impala LS 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This is a great, solid car. Sporty enough for a middle aged gal like myself, but grown up enough for a middle aged gal like myself. It handles great, and has a good solid feel. There is little cabin noise, and there is plenty of room for passengers. All of the controls are comfortably placed. In fact, I prefer it to newer models I have driven. I average about 29 mpg on the highway, and 22 mph in town.
Favorite Features
Smooth ride, solid feel, low cabin noise, gas mileage is great for such a large car.
Suggested Improvements
