I've recently purchased a 2003 Impala. I've read several complaints about this model car. According to the owner's manual, certain cylinders will shut down to prevent damage to the motor. In this case, the car would feel as though the transmission is slipping. At best, the thermostat may be a cause for the cylinders to shut down. But, according to the check engine codes, it had something to do with tempature ... Read More

I agree. I don't know what the secret is with the Camry -it doesn't have massive changes each year and seems to be the top seller in the mid size category. Unfortunately for the Impala, the 2007 Camry interior makes it look like a Chevy work truck. There is no comparison at all - the Camry looks like the Avalon inside. The 2003 Impala LS was the top of the line model. Many had leather, moon roof etc. Your new 2006 Impala is the base model, so your comparison should be with the 2003 base model Impala prices. The 03 LS is comparable today to the 2006 LT3-LTZ. 2003 LS $15,9888 is the asking price, so after negotiations, like you did on your new car a much lower price will be paid. ... Read More
