Review

This was the first one in northern MI sold. Had some new model quirks and bugs to work out, dealership took care of all of them except for one, which needs GM's help. All 4 doors are rusting at the seam on the inside door bottom. GM seems to be giving me the runaround. I want either new doors (as an attempt to repaint didn't work) or a new car. Other than that it gets OK gas mileage 23 around town, 28 on the freeway (thought it would do better.) Put a real console in the car and move the window switches. Love the heated leather seats and XM radio. Quality would be better if it wasn't built in Mexico.

Favorite Features

XM radio, heated leather seats that sit more van like than car like, retro body style, the Daytona Blue color (not available for 2007

Suggested Improvements

5 speed automatic, V-6 engine (Saturn's 3.5 liter Honda motor from the Vue), move the window switches, increase the width and put in a real console with useable cup holders, build in US and make the doors not rust, put better speakers in the car, as the Pioneer upgrade isn't that good

I love my car. It's really a nice driving car with good gas mileage. It's like a car and a truck together. I would recommend it to anybody.

Favorite Features

Seats let up and down back. Windshield wipers. Leather interior. Seats warm up in winter. OnStar, XM radio, phone inside car. Car starter from inside house

Suggested Improvements

Front windows freeze up in 14 below weather. Car sits really low in front

I really enjoyed having this vehicle. To me it was the best vehicle in its price range at the time. I had owned this vehicle for about a year. I had totaled this vehicle in a rollover accident. Me and my passenger walked away with just scratches. That says something for the safety of the vehicle. I was disappointed that it had rolled over so easily though. Just a sharp turn of the steering wheel at 65MPH with the trunk full and it flipped down the median of the highway several times. I am afraid to own another one but will purchase a similar style of vehicle.

Favorite Features

Radio. Looks and function. Safety. Space. Tinted rear windows. Fold flat seats.

Suggested Improvements

Stereo speakers. If I pay for the stereo upgrade I want to know it by having an great set of speakers. Anti-rollover features.

Review

I have 4,000 miles on my HHR. It is a fun little vehicle to drive. A lot of people check the car out when I have it parked in the public. I guess the novelty hasn't wore off yet. I love the retro styling. I feel I got a lot of car for the buck.

Favorite Features

Love the styling, both inside and out. The car is very comfortable for a small vehicle. I get 30 miles to the gallon.

Suggested Improvements

I don't like that the power window controls are located low on the console. I have also found that the A pillar, along with vent-shades, create a small blind spot.

Review

We owned an SUV, and with the higher prices of gas we wanted a more economical vehicle. I spotted an HHR and fell in love with its quirky look. We started researching this vehicle and knew it would suit the needs of our family. Our insurance premiums, car payment and gas consumption dropped. What could be better? I've always owned more normal and boring vehicles so I wanted something spunky. I ordered the blue HHR and customized it with the leather interior, 6 CD changer, and order a 5-speed. It handles beautifully in all types of weather. We have seat warmers (very nice in winter.) The air bag automatically disengages when a smaller person is sitting in the front seat.

Favorite Features

I love the spunky shape and the colors available. Purple, maroon, champagne, blue, orange, black. The interior has older style gauges and the gear shift is chrome. Love it! The cargo area is very roomy as well as the passenger areas because the top seems to be higher than most other vehicles.

Suggested Improvements

I find that some of the interior features are a bit crowded together, and because I'm a short person I sit closer to the wheel and that sometimes causes problems when getting out. The vehicle is close to the ground so it might scrape especially going over pot holes or rough roads.

Review

I traded a van for the HHR because of the smaller size and lower access to the rear cargo area. The car runs great and gets good mileage, 23 mpg or so in almost exclusively stop and go driving, and approximately 34 mpg on a 1000 mile vacation trip. The driver info center is handy, showing all the necessary numbers at the push of a button.

Favorite Features

I like the location of the window controls on the center console area of the dash. Two glove compartments come in handy for keeping those little things. The airbags for the passenger side are not armed unless occupied. The input jack for the audio system lets me plug in my MP3 player for audio books

Suggested Improvements

Cup holders need to be more accessible. Possibly raise the roof line a little.

Turns on a dime. Excellent interior workmanship. Good visibility, good cargo area. No leaks. Great stereo. Have a 4dr LT upgraded HHR with limited color edition. Best seating of any car I have owned, and I have owned foreign and domestic cars. Mid-life crisis dream and great for your ego

Great looks, great workmanship.Good fuel economy. Great ride, great stereo.

Suggested Improvements

Add a V6, rear cup holders

Review

I bought my HHR in '05 and have had no problems with it at all. Not one, and all I have to say is, I'm hooked. This car is a keeper in my book. I hope it continues to satisfy and suprise for many years to come. I recommended this vehicle to many people I know, and so far, maybe 6 out of 10 have bought themselves their own HHR's and have a shared opinion. Thanks Chevrolet, you won't hear me say that twice, but I like this car and look forward to a turbo kit in the future!

Favorite Features

I'm certainly glad that it has the iPod jack!

Suggested Improvements

I don't like how close the front seats are together, only because my HHR is a manual and it's awkward to shift with the arm rests down,

Great gas mileage. The seating is excellent for me. I'm in an upright position, and feel very comfortable. The car looks awesome, and I have to say that I have not experienced one problem since I purchased it 7 thousand miles ago. I love the storage with the seats down, and even with them up, I have more than enough room. This is a great car for the money.

Favorite Features

Seats, storage, roominess. Gas mileage. Good sense of security
