The answer is throughout this forum. Replace the rotors yourself. GM is not going to help you. I bought rotors from Ebay which were cross drilled for cooler running, new pads, all for about $130. I did the work myself which was easy. Demos are on YouTube. The stock rotors are absolute junk and there is no other answer. Believe me.

I stopped to fill my 2006 HHR with gas. Turned off the engine, then turned the key to reset my "trip" button and roll down a window. Turned off key, then pumped my gas. When I got back in the car, I turned the key and got a clicking noise, it would not start. I got out of the car and tried to use the remote starter. When I pushed the ... Read More

  • I LOVE MY 2006 HHR & will buy another for sure!

    Written by: topsk9trainer on Oct 9, 2006 11:45:05 PM

I bought my HHR (my boyfriend's father is a higher up at a local dealer in Illinois) for a very nice price and it's all been beautiful since. I PUT TONS of mileage on my vehicles and quite frankly was nervous that a Chevy product wouldn't hold up to the early beating it was no doubt soon to receive after purchase. Well, I'm glad to say that since purchase and driving ... Read More

My dealer's service manager decided to replace the entire steering column to see if that would do the trick. That was it for me...as you can see from my original post I have spent a lot of time at the dealer getting things fixed and replaced since I purchased my ... Read More

We leased our new 2006 HHR (Harry for short) for 4 years. At 3 years we can trade it, buy it, walk away from it so long as the miles are right. 12,000 per year. Since I hardly put that on a car we should be okay. We got ours from Garber Auto Mall, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Mel :)

(a couple of days after I rated the car a "10.0" on the reviews). After I drove the car for about 15 minutes, I put it in Park and left it running. Got out and pumped gas. Hi ls2gto. According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2006 Chevrolet HHR through GMAC right now for 24 months with 12,000 miles per year, its base lease rate and residual value should be 6.75% and 59%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are 6.75% and 54%. The numbers for an otherwise identical 48 month lease are 6.75% and 44%. ... Read More

Ours seems to be pretty good in snow ( I always run on winter tires here in the NE ,RWD,FWD,AWD whatever I'm driving) The only thing I've noticed is I tend to overpower it a bit (2.4 engine running 93 manual tranny) from a start mostly, I think if I ran lower octane I wouldn't be doing that.

Mine is a 2LT with the 2.4L, it has an automatic transmission and like all HHRs with an automatic transmission it has electronic traction control. I've been thru 2 decent snow storms (6-12inches) and it works great. The antilock brakes work great too. All HHRs with an automatic transmission also have remote start from the factory...good feature. Averaging about 26-27 mpg so far.
