In 2004 I purchased a 2001 Chevy express 3500 with 74000 miles from Enterprise. It has 14 bucket seats. I'm very happy with it. Drove it to upstate N Y and back from Los Angeles with no problems. Hello, I am Brian from Arizona, US. I own a 2001 Chevy Express 3500 extended passenger van. Original seating was 8 passengers but have added a 4th bench to make it 12 passenger. The van has the 8.1 lt Vortec engine which to my knowledge this engine size was discontinued in the vans after 2001. Anyone else out there? I have a 2001 Express also Having the same problem, confirmed myself that the socket are bad, the actual problem with the sockets are the way "they" attach or make contact with he ground wire to the socket. Its a pressure fit and my guess is dissimular metals. Add moisture to the picture and you get corrosion. I replaced both sockets to correct this problem. Using a NAPA replacement part. You ... Dear Express folks, I need some help. My 2001 Express 3500 van's transmission crapped out at only 53,000 miles -- a forward pump disintegrated and went through the entire Xmssion. I have to buy a new one, $3K, for a van worth $9K per the Edmunds ratings! I vaguely recall the powertrain warranty covering the transmission. I have a 2001 Chevy Express Van, and I've been trying to figure out how to turn off these dreaded Daytime running lights. I camp in my van a lot, and have a power inverter inside, so sometimes I want to run the engine not to drain the battery, but then my lights come on. Not cool. Anyway have any suggestions? 2001 Express Extended Gas 8.1 lt V8 = 10-13 MPG before I replaced my air filter with a K&N high performance air filter. My last road trip I recorded 16 MPG Hwy through the desert with A/C on and loaded.

I have the same exact problem with my 2001 Express, I figured it needed front wheel bearings, was this what you did as well? (I know your post is almost a year old But I am hoping that you still read the forum every once in a while) :)

I have about 9k trouble free miles on my 2001 Chevy Express cargo 3500. I use mine for appliance service, so it's pretty loaded down. The ride is great for a 1 ton. I have ordered a Chevy Express 155"W.B., locking diff., 4:10 rear end, air, locks, pwr wind., pwr. locks., with the Vortec 8100 engine too.
