I agree, the we chose the Equinox over the Sorento and Escape because it drives so much smoother and quieter. The 10yr warranty is really a marketing ploy IMO because you're going to put 15-20k miles on an SUV per year. It's your family car, your roadtrip/vacation car, your daily driver and workhorse. As an example we put 40k miles on our 2004 Escape in the past year because we drove it everywhere. Even assuming we put half as many miles on the Equinox for the next 5 years, we'll hit the 5yr 100k around the same time. The center console is not only more appealing and easier to use, it also has better design for preventing the sun causing glare onto the screen - it's very well thought out. We will likely be cancelling the OnStar after the 6mo free because of the $30/mo cost, it's nice while its free but we're not so sure its worth it to be able to unlock/lock and start our car from our phones. It sounds nice but we probably won't use that functionality and its just a waste of money. Your suggested improvements are spot on, though none of them are deal breakers for us (we got the LTZ so we have the fog lamps). I might also add that perhaps the shifter could be moved forward a bit for shorter people, it's kind of awkward when your seat is moved forward so you can reach the pedal and you're trying to shift into reverse. If the shifter were on the steering wheel that'd be even nicer, throw paddle shifters onto the steering wheel as well and just do away with that shifter in the middle and make it a cubby hole or something.Report it
