2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV LT2 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

Owning a CR-V for 2 years and finding it an excellent car, had some concerns about the Chevy but in terms of ride, a quiet cabin, fuel economy, and fit and finish it seems to be not only equal to, but better than. The Honda's 5 speed transmission seems to shift smarter, and steering is quicker. The 6 speed GM transmission, even on the 4 cylinder is however smooth, and quiet. All in all you get better MPG - quieter ride - greater leg room, Bluetooth, power rear hatch, better seat heating, in a car that anyone will like to drive. Chevy wins this one.

Best Features

Small things v CR-V. The Chevy has functional sun visors that extend. The CR-V's are worthless. Much quieter cabin at hwy speed then the CR-V, and you do not have to buy Nav to get Bluetooth like with Honda. Power rear tailgate lift

Worst Features

Replace the rear security cover and make a rear shelf like the CR-V. The shelf in the CR-V is so nice and useful. It hides lower items, and is VERY functional. Allow the rear seat head rests to collapse forward for better visibility in rear view mirror. Place the door unlock control on the door

2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV LT2 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

Wife and I were going to buy Ford Escape or Edge, but on a whim we stopped in at Chevy dealer to check out Equinox. What we saw blew us away. We went out to get lunch to talk about it. Both of us couldn't stop talking about how nice the Equinox was. Interior way more room than Edge with more features and style. Interior and exterior are nice. GM has XM radio, Ford does not. XM has baseball. After lunch, we returned to dealer, went for a test drive and negotiated a deal. Engine power was surprisingly peppy for a 4-cyl. We drove a 6-cyl also, but not a noticeable improvement in horsepower. Based on feature package, build quality, price, and dealer, we think Equinox is best vehicle available.

Best Features

Dashboard layout, XM radio, automatic rear cargo lift gate, tire pressure sensor readout on dash, seat comfort.

Worst Features

GM should improve visibility to right front of passenger side. There is a big blind spot when looking to clear pedestrian traffic on curbs when making a right turn.

2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV LS 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

We traded in a 07 Trailblazer on our new 10 Equinox and are loving it. My favorite feature is the MPG, double that of the Trailblazer. For a sub $25k vehicle the Equinox comes with a host of features and is easy on the eyes. Great value in today's over inflated car prices.

Best Features

MPG is #1 on the list, barely sips gas. Styling and features for the price paid.

Worst Features

Tinted windows in the LS, standard.

2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV LT1 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

14k on it so far and runs great, Wife puts 130 miles a day on it going back and forth to work. Has not had a single issue. It handled very well through the Wisconsin winter. You had to work hard to make the tires slip, the traction and stability control really worked. Gas mileage average is about 27 so far. Very comfortable and roomy, I can take the wife and kids on a long trip in peace and quit. They all fall asleep!

Best Features

Roomy interior, quite ride, backup camera, sound system, gas mileage.

Worst Features

The six speed auto likes to down shift a lot on the hills, takes awhile to get used to.

2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV LT2 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

Had to order the vehicle to get the options and color we wanted but well worth the wait. Took our first road trip within two days of delivery - Jacksonville,FL to Chattanooga, TN yielded 26.6 MPG in regular mode. Return trip in ECO got us 28.5 mpg. Mostly Interstate highway at 70-75 MPH. No problem with acceleration or power in ECO mode on the interstate. Not bad out of the gate. This vehicle is a winner. Glad GM got it right. Comfortable ride, pleasure to drive. Not as quite of a ride as we remember from our test drive, but all in all a great SUV.

Best Features

Gas mileage, exterior styling, instrument panel, ipod connection. Love the rearview camera and self dimming rearview mirror.

Worst Features

Power lumbar in passenger seat on all models. Assumed it came in the LT2 but after checking GM web site doesn't appear that this is even an option.
