2009 Chevrolet Equinox Sport 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Bought this vehicle after considerable research. My decision came down to the Audi Q5 3.2 or Eq Sport. I like/ own Audis, although now overpriced. Very similar power, comparable handling, interior room, and amenities. Obviously, big difference in cachet, resale value and sticker price. Athough there are many choices in this vehicle class, these two stood out for handling and performance, without going to a Porsche or BWM (way overpriced/valued). After driving for 27 months/36000 miles, this was a great choice. Other than minor issues with bluetooth, this has been a solid vehicle, with NO problems, interior holding up well, despite heavy use/athletic gear hauling. Fuel use more than expecte
Power is right for vehicle size/use (moderate aggressive). 6 Speed transmission is pretty slick, even with occasional hunt-and-peck changes.
Solid grip with AWD.
Interior quality is OK, and holding up well.
Sound system is decent for class.
Convenient configuration for seating/adjustment.
Limited stupid extra bits to break.
Reliability has been excellent (no system failures/repairs).
Great little SUV to go to hockey, golf course, or ski hill, hauling all the gear.
My wife and teenage children are comfortable driving this vehicle.
Not an ugly SUV.
Have not had to bleed money to Stealership, unlike typical Audi Experience.
Quality/resilience of upholstery in rear hatch is poor and easily ripped with hauling bulky items. Fix this - it tears way too easily! Nice job on seats and other interior materials - why throw this crappy material into the rear?
Water ingress through sunroof is too easy in tilt position.
Fuel consumption is not as good as claimed, even for moderately aggresive driving.
Dash and console design flair is, lets say, minimalist. Could use somewhat more adventurous accents.
This is my second NOX.
My first was a 2005 LT AWD.
I loved this truck but power was not its strong suit either.
The truck was loaded with all the little goodies.
My new 09 NOX (picked it up April 2012 with 18881 miles) is the AWD Sport.
This truck is great with all the goodies.
I use the manual mode on the transmission to get a little better gas mileage on the HWY.
I have averaged about 18 MPG mixed driving.
I shift at 3400 RPM with a moderate pedal.
Love the power!
