Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Equinox LT Fwd 4dr SUV (3.4L 6cyl 5A)
Review
This vehicle is by far the worst vehicle I have owned. I have had it in for serivce numerous times, and a solution is never presented. Vehicle is loud at all speeds, acceleration and power is terrible. Ride quality is very rough, and with every bump the vehicle jumps. Have had check engine light, oil light, and engine service light come on about 3-5 times a week. And as far as gas mileage, I average about 15-16mpg. This is by far the worst vehicle I have owned, I regret buying it every day. Please try to avoid this vehicle in any way.

Really like it - turning radius takes a little while to get used to. Fuel mileage in town(usually what I drive) could be better. Highway miles good. Cloth on seats stain easily.

Better cloth on seats
is okay to drive

Fun, very easy to park, excellent to drive on extreme weather. The only thing that the designer has to improve is the windshield area, when it snows you get a lot of acumulation there, you actually have to stop and clean the snow to continue driving safely.

I bought this car after test driving and reading online the glowing reports of this vehicle. Never in over my 36 years of driving have I been so disappointed in a car. I have had it to the shop for: Key stuck in the ignition, seat heaters not working, starter not functioning ( at least 6 times) Brakes making noises ( at least 12 times) re-progamming the CD player, transmission....need I go on. I write this as my car is now in the shop for the 3rd time in 3 weeks! Stay away from this car..very disappointed

Turning in tight spots needs some attention. The mileage is not what as advertise. The mileage was my biggest disappointment. Other than those 2 items, I really like the Equinox and it's roominess for riding. I did not get all the options, but a fair share, I like the options I do have.
Favorite Features
CD player, moon roof,
Suggested Improvements
Better mileage and more gauges in the instrument panel

First time buying a new car. My wife needed something more reliable and we both loved her Montero. Found this at our local Chevy dealer and liked it rom the first test drive. Have drove it for a few months and have no real complaints. Love the seating and cargo area. VERY roomy in the backseat. The gas mileage is getting better every month with the more miles on it.
Favorite Features
The cargo area and bench seat. Also the design of the interior very roomy and open
Suggested Improvements
Radio was a lil confusing to start but got the hang of it. Also better sun visors.

Drives and rides nice. Like the back seat room and ease of entering and exiting the rear seat. The electric assist power steering is nice. Overall a nice vehicle to have.
Favorite Features
Sun roof. Heated seats. Electric assist power steering. Room and ease of entry and exit of the vehicle. Storage options in the rear are nice too.
Suggested Improvements
The windshield is hard to clean at the gas station because of the high side rails. The running board type rail that runs under the doors accumulates snow and ice and this then gets your clothing dirty and wet when exiting the vehicle.

Wished I test drove it a lot longer. Well the exterior is nice. Interior is a big issue. Front is very cramped. Dash illumination is poor. Power lock/window and other buttons don't light. Can't use emergency brake when cup holder extended. Bottom cup holder is too low to keep your coffee in. Temp knob very hard to turn. Going over bumps are ok but other times feel like the wheels are falling off. Starting the engine cold idles at 1300 rpm for about 4 minutes. Rear hatch no longer goes up on its own. Blind spots are scary when backing up. Small fuel tank for an SUV.
Favorite Features
Engine and acceleration is good, tons of rear leg room and storage is good with seats down, mileage is about 22 mpg.
Suggested Improvements
Plenty - but I'll own a Toyota before then.
Nice ride

Overall I have enjoyed driving the vehicle, however I am somewhat concerned with the way the automatic transmission shifts during acceleration, the tach revs very high before shifting. The rear windows leave some blind spots, however the front seating is comfortable and visability is good in front.
Favorite Features
Roomy rear seating allows for open feeling for rear passengers. Stylish cockpit. Nice power!
Suggested Improvements
More comfortable headrests in both the front and rear. Some storage in the doors would be great.
