2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco 4dr Sedan (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
We were looking for a car to replace my 1987 Mercedes 300TD diesel.
My wife was driving our 2004 Suburban and averaging around 14 mpg mixed.
It had to get good gas mileage, carry three kids, our luggage, and it had to be a manual transmission!
We were interested in the new Focus (ugly even though I love Ford, no stick in upper trim levels) and Elantra (Alien looking and only stick in lower trim).
We drove the ECO and fell in love with it's quietness, little turbo motor, and the slick shifting manual transmission.
This car will be passed down to our kids in five years.
The fact that they can't text and drive is priceless (manual)!
On our first trip with 500 miles on it we got 47.8MPG
-Fuel economy (averaging 43mpg 70/30 hwy/city).
--Space fits our two 10 and 9 year old girls with our three year old boy in a car seat with ease.
-bluetooth for safe driving
-OnStar navigation feature
-Manual transmission (my wife's favorite feature)
-shifts very well, not notchy
-why Americans are so lazy and opt for an auto I
will never know.
You get performance and economy all in one.
Makes the car fun to drive and not an appliance.
-styling is very mature.
I don't feel like I'm a smug guy driving a green car.
-I love the feature where my wife stops driving the Suburban!
It will pay for itself in fuel savings (based on 60mo loan).
Leather in the Eco trim would be nice.
As well as heated seats for our cold Wisconsin winters.
I can add those features aftermarket for around 1600.
