Good catch starrow but unfortunately that special extension has expired as of Feb. 2008, so I didn't mention it. HOWEVER, now that you brought it up, I'll post it anyway and maybe he can lever the dealer or Chevy if he wants to spend the time to do so. Greetings: Opinions are like....... oh ya, ...in my humble opinion: I spent $99,949.85 out the door (cash sale, I am truely fortunate! )in Oct 2005 on my ordered 2006 C2S coupe. The VAST majority of Porsche owners never will experience the true potential of their cars, the VAST majority of Vet owners are likely in the same boat. I checked out the 2006 Corvettes and did not like the quality or ... Read More

Correct, we know when the models were introduced, the C6, the Z51 package and now the Z06. I am interested in a Z06. Maybe you did not read my original post. The C6 was new in 2005, reduction in problems in 2006 and 2007 should be better. The mechanic stated he would wait on the Z06, a year or two. The story from the Elco corvette mechanic seemed to be verified ... Read More

Buy what you like, don't let one guys posting get your shorts all bound up there junior. Don't be ashamed you got an automatic, enjoy it. No need to be so defensive. I have many automatics in my lifetime, just not in a sportscar. I think you will find many end performance cars without auto transmission though. Plus, you left out the St. Louis Corvette statistics for auto/manual? Poor data analysis. ... Read More
Jmess: I am sorry to hear about the problem you posted yesterday regarding your Z06. I hope things work out for the better -- or even the BEST. I know how you feel, as I have been GM's guinea pig (sp?) for the original C5 in 1997. I was among the first to find two of their eventual recall items. Here's why I am writing. I've been reviewing a bunch of ... Read More

Guys, you want to hear about quality, read this! I purchased a brand new yellow 2006 Z06 on the last of October, after waiting patiently for a few months. In August of '05 I gave my local chevrolet dealership a $1000 deposit for a 2006 corvette convertible. At the time, the 06 pricing was not available so a deal was worked for $2500 off whatever MSRP was going to be. I checked in with the dealership a week ago and all they could tell me was that chevrolet had accepted the order and that they could not give me a ... Read More
The 2006 Z06 doesn't have the Malbu's steering wheel. Chevy will likely upgrade the interior of the C6 in a few years. No private owner has even driven their new C6 Z06 to test for rattles. Yes, I do know of sources of information on the RMS leak issue and how it might hasn't been addressed in the 997. The Corvette is sold in Cadillac dealers in Europe. It has 512 ... Read More

As a previous owner of two Corvettes the 2005 C6 is the first Vette that has sparked my interest in a long time. The styling reminds me of the 360 Modena in the headlights and the Viper in the front fenders while still maintaining the Vette persona. Of course I would never, never, never buy a first year GM car and did I say never? Maybe I will consider a 2006 ... Read More
