2005 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Hatchback (6.0L 8cyl 6M)
Review
Well worth the two month wait. Did not expect the head turning reactions. I've alwys been a European car driver, but love this car and it holds its own against them. A very fun car to drive.
Favorite Features
Heads up display, OnStar, navigation system, keyless entry, XM radio
Suggested Improvements
Disappointed with radio reception - better with XM but local stations not as good as prior cars. A few rattles until the car was broken in.

I have owned this car now for almost 4 months and 4,500 miles, and I can't stop driving it. My Lexus is collecting dust. If you're looking for a fast, sporty car, this is the one for you!
Favorite Features
I love my Nav system. Couldn't be better!
Suggested Improvements
Hmm...Don't know. It's almost perfect. Maybe some more horsepower!!

Great mileage for a car of its power and performance. Braking, acceleration and steering are very good.
Favorite Features
XM radio, navigational system, ride package, heated seats and keyless ignition.
Suggested Improvements
Ride package on the touring could be softer for long trips. Silver plastic cover around gear shift looks cheap.
6 speed convertible rocks

2005 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Convertible (6.0L 8cyl 6M)
Review
The performance and ride quality of this car is impressive. More interior refinement would be nice. With the top down this car is hard to beat. Docile and easy to relax in, but ready to pounce with a push of the pedal. The Z51 option does not make the ride too harsh, but this is a sports car, not a limo. Only complaint is break squeal, a common problem with the Z51 cross drilled rotors. Can't be beat for the money - and resale will be high.
Favorite Features
Keyless ignition - short throw six speed - manual top operation is a breeze.
Suggested Improvements
Interior refinment - not a BMW or Audi quality wise - rain sensing wipers - trunk must be slammed shut.

I'm not easy to please, and this car is not perfect, but I love it! I owned my 1st Vette in 2000, another in 2001, and yet another in 2004. All were great cars that never needed repairs. This 2005 rides and drives much better. The Z-51 pkg seems to have fixed the issue that I had with the other 3 dragging the ground at any bump. They had no clearance. It's still low, but drags much less. I've had a service issue. The steering vibrates when turning the wheel at rest. Even backing out of the garage causes an annoying sound and the vibration. The dealer tells me that this is a inherent problem that they, as yet, have no fix to correct.G M needs to address this. But, I love my Vette
Favorite Features
Power, power, & more power. GPS, Heads-up display. Better ground clearance, XMradio. Looks great and...did I mention power?
Suggested Improvements
GM , as yet. does not have a fix for that annoying vibration at very low speeds in the steering. They've issued a service alert, but it's still cannot be fixed. They need to enable the CD player behind the GPS door to play MP3's.

We bought the car at Woodard Chevrolet and flew to Bowling Green Kentucky for the Museum Delivery. After touring the museum and assembly plant we picked up the Vette. It was a wonderful experience. We drove the car back to California and had a great trip. The car is a dream. It handles great, and is all I had hoped for. We are showing it in all Corvette Car shows and it is taking 1st place in all of them. It is my daily driver and I love it. The performance and cornering ability is awesome.
Favorite Features
Memory seat positions, and heated seats. Heads up display. Digital read out for warnings. Keyless entry and ignition. Top down cruising. The body style.
Suggested Improvements
Color code the door handles and rear brake light spoiler. Improve the sound of the exhaust. These are aftermarket items that the majority of the owners change.

The car's drivability is great!! Fuel economy could be a misperception (it's a performance car). The run flat tires are acceptable. I have 10k on them and they still ride fine. Overall, the quality of the car has improved drastically over the previous model.

I bought mine fully loaded. I don't think there was an option I didn't get. So the base price of $45,900 is misleading as mine cost $67,043 out the door. Everything works great except the power top which is a first year option for the Corvette. I have had a number of problems with its operation. If I had it to do over, I think I would have gone with the manual convertible top and saved a couple of grand. Performace is fantastic. Styling is fabulous. When I drive it, heads turn. Now I know what a beautiful woman goes through when she walks down the street in a tight dress. A lot of sports car for the money. $67,00 doesn't sound like a bargain, but it really is!
Favorite Features
Heads up display and navigation are great. Keyless operation takes some getting used to but is very cool. But the best feature on this car is that 400 hp motor and its handling ability. This car is a performer!
Suggested Improvements
Make the car so the fob transmitter must be in the car for the motor to continue working. If a valet to brought the car to you, got out of the car while running and forget to give you the fob transmitter, you could drive your car home, shut off the engine and not be able to start it again.

This car is such an improvement over previous years that there is really no comparison. Every aspect has been redesigned and the total package exceeded my expectations. There is superior power, but it is completly under control with the supension and brakes being excellent. My only negative comment is that the seats could be more comfortable. They're fine for a couple hours, but leave something to be desired on long distance trips. The Z-51 package just glues the car to the road and gives the feel of a much heavier vehicle. The Corvette is unbeatable for the price. They got this one right. It's the best Vette yet!
Favorite Features
The engine is very responsive throughout it's entire range and the supension and brakes are excellent. The Z-51 package is worth the money.
Suggested Improvements
The seating could be improved, and there is some excessive wind noise with the hard top removed.

The 2005 C6 is one awesome machine. The acceleration and handling is superior to prior models. I know this because I have owned a 1986, 1993, 1999, 2001, and now a 2005 convertible with a 6 speed. I love it. Chevrolet really has engineered a great car.
Favorite Features
Navigation system, power top, heated seats, home link system, and of course the 400 horse power engine
