It took me 40 years to finally buy the Corvette I promised myself in college. It is actually better than I expected. It is a joy to drive, on both winding back roads and interstates. I've driven it from Maine to Tennessee with nothing but great experiences. From a performance standpoint, it is the fastest thing I've ever driven, and it will be at least another 12,000 miles before I'm really able to use all 400 hp comfortably. The convertible top is perfect. Tight and quiet when up, and easy to put down. At 120 with the top up you can talk and hear the radio. And it insulates very well. No problems with air conditioning in the summer (and my top is black)
Favorite Features
Engine, chassis, suspension (amazing mix of performance and comfort), convertible top, color (discontinued Magnetic Red)
Suggested Improvements
Improve the shifter and trans again by the same amount as from the last model (C5). It is still notchy and easy to miss the 2-3 shift Put the tachometer on the right side of the dash so when you shift with your right hand you can see it.

Fine handling, power/performance is great, the headsup display works well in all conditions, electronic options (6 CD player, duel AC, instrument cluster) all are as advertised.
Favorite Features
Enjoy headsup display & six speed. Very nice performance and gas mileage.
Suggested Improvements
Eliminate the 2-4 economy shift feature. I can decide if I want to go 2- 4.

Super Value

I can't imagine another car that provides so much fun and excitement for the price. We've driven our C6 on two long trips and arrived feeling much better than we would have in our Chrysler 300 (and it's a pretty comfy car). I love the performance and drivability and my wife loves the style and comfort. It's quite an improvement from our C3 which has been "demoted" to show and parade duty only.
Favorite Features
Heads up display, XM radio, styling, and performance.

C6 the best Vette ever!
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Hatchback (6.0L 8cyl 6M)
Review
This is my third Corvette and by far the best Corvette ever. I've had the third generation and fifth generation Corvettes and all I can say is that they did it right this time with the sixth generation Vette. From the styling and handling to the sound and navigational system all is American Classic Corvette. I had second thoughts about the fixed headlights but it is the thing that impresses me the most. Absolutely gorgeous, absolutely practical, absolutely American!
Favorite Features
Speed, handling and braking power!
Suggested Improvements
I am absolutely crazy about this vehicle and the only complaint that I have is the engine heat emitting to the driver and passenger compartments. Bearable but not necessary.

Best Vette I've ever owned

This is my 3rd, I had a 93, 04 and now this 05. The comfort in this car has been greatly improved, not to mention horse power and overall handling. The new exhaust system have a perfect, deep sound to it, and I appreciate the fact they went back to having the 6sp manual as standard.
Favorite Features
6sp, exhaust, nav system.

I had a '94 Vette before this and the C6 completely blows all previous versions away. Took a little longer to get due to problems with convertible top, but well worth the wait! Great for a quick drive or a long trip. The trunk makes light traveling a breeze. Lots of room. beautiful design, GM really outdid themselves. Corners really well. The car lets you know when anything is wrong, from low air to needing oil changed. For especially tall men, may pose a problem getting in and out, seat seems lower then previous versions. Great highway mileage (400-480 miles per tank), in town its average (@350 miles per tank) Love the auto top. Manual top in last car was a real pain to use. An amazing car! I love it!
Favorite Features
The keyless starter, the trunk, the automatic top , heated automatic seats, the HUD, maintence notification, the body...everything!
Suggested Improvements
Could have better cup holder- not much interior space for cups, keys, phone.
The best one yet.

The car is now 18 months old and the performance is better than ever. I drive long distances and the car is wonderfully comfortable. I can drive 800 miles a day and still feel relaxed at the end of the day. This is my 4th Corvette and it is clearly the best one ever. For the price, it has no equal.
Favorite Features
Performance in handling, acceleration, and braking. The car is also comfortable to drive.
Suggested Improvements
The Bose system is terrible. It simply is not high fidelity, and the radio lacks the ability to pick up distant stations and discriminate between stations. Leather is beginning to show wear after 18000 miles and a year and a half(so did my C4 & C6).

Excellant sports car for the money. It turns lots of heads when we go out cruising. A real sharp body and performance package. This is our 4th Vette since we bought our first one in 1999. Would highly recommend this beauty to anyone wanting a great looking high performance sports car
Favorite Features
The handling and performance along with the look

Just driving to the store is fun. King of the road. Car is bi-polar. Put the pedal to the metal and everybody around ducks. It is so much fun. And... after 15 months it has not been back to the dealer for repairs.

Quiet engine

Great car with annoying problems

My C6 is a refinement of my C5, and the Z51 package provides better brakes, shorter gear ratios, and a tight suspension. I replaced the Lexus- sounding exhaust with a Corsa Sport system, and now it sounds like a Corvette. The bad news is little irritating problems, like a plethora of interior rattles, and a chronic roof panel rattle. Fixed under recall, it still makes noise. The worst problem is known as "dead battery syndrome" due to the need to shut off the car in reverse, or it stays in accessory and it kills your battery. This ruined a weekend for me. The F1 Supercar Run Flats are very good for run flats, and I can accept the low 220 wear rating in trade for great handling.
Favorite Features
Head up display, XM radio, Z51 package.
Suggested Improvements
Shorter throws in 6 speed, no shut-off in reverse, more reliable electronics without all the glitches, no more rattles.
