What runs with the $150k+ Italian exotics but only costs 1/3 of that? My 2005 C6! I owned a 2001 C5 Corvette before buying this new model in September, and the improvement over that already fine, fun car is impressive. A great car for a relatively small heap of cash!

Awesome Z51

If you're going to get a C6, make sure to invest in the Z51 package. It makes all the difference in the world. I owned a 1997 C5, and the difference between the two is like night and day. I'm not thrilled with the navigation system only because I would have rather had the in-dash 6-CD changer as opposed to the single CD player.

I purchased a 2005 Corvette on November 2, 2004. As of January 15, 2005 I have put 6,000 Miles on the car. I have had no mechanical problems, no rattles or squeaks! However the carpet in the rear hatch stowage area is going to be replaced from the dealer. The carpet does not quite fit, which causes difficulty in opening the rear hidden storage lids. I also have some very minor wind noise on the passenger side window near the removable top. My experience with the car has been outstanding with the exception of what I have written above. The car is a real attention getter. Everywhere I drive people are pointing and looking. At almost every gas stop people approach me.

As a previous Corvette owner, they only get better with each generation. The level of power, handling, and sophistication in this car beats all other generation Corvettes hands down and will run circles around just about everything else on the road up to twice (or more) the price!

The Corvette design team has outdone themselves again! This machine is a technological marvel and work of art. Sitting inside my C6 Z51 6-Spd beast makes me feel like a king. This is my second 'vette, the first was a 2000 C5 Z51 6-Spd. The power is considerably stronger, partly due to the lower bottom gears for off-the-line torque. I find I need to re-learn accelerator control to keep the wheels from breaking free in both 1st and 2nd. The engine remains quiet until pouring on the power and then exhibits a more refined growl than the C5. The car is much quieter, they solved the window wind noise problem at highway speeds. Ran out of words so suffice it to say: Corvette Rules!

Great car for perfect roads only

I bought the Z51 package in order to get the very "best" vette possible. However, unless you plan to race this car (on a race track) or live where the roads are perfect, consider the magnetic suspension. The Z51 is simply too harsh for midwestern roads. Buy the skip shift bypass from one of the aftermarket sites - that feature is annoying at best, dangerous at worst. The car is tremendous fun on the right roads, and is a real head- turner, though it is a handful on rough secondary roads. It is a super- bargain, but there is a trade-off in refinement. If you can afford it, check out a Boxster S or M3 before you buy.

Hard to drive without a smile on your face. A completely different animal from the C5. Smooth and quiet with almost too much get up and go on the highway. Only negative on the car is the front license plate mount. Chevy redesigned the car so good, they forgot some states needed a front plate.
