2004 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Convertible (5.7L 8cyl 4A)

Review

I am a 5 ft 7 natural blonde. I know people expect to see a mid-life crisis male when they pass me. I love the Vette, but the ride is nothing like my Cadillac SUV. My boyfriend drives a BMW convertible, and people always think he owns the Corvette and I own the BMW. The noise level on the highway with the Vette is bad. I wouldn't think of a long trip in it. I just had too much disposable income when I bought it, either that or my mid-life crisis set in! I love the Corvette "wave" from other owners! Everyone should own one Vette in their life!

Favorite Features

It's a Vette! Love the exhaust plate!

Suggested Improvements

Less noise factor on the convertible. Better ride!

2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2dr Coupe (5.7L 8cyl 6M)

Review

The Corvette Z06 is a remarkable car. It's fast, beautiful, handles and stops like very few cars can. These cars are priced well and fairly inexpensive to own. Mine gets 30 MPG on the highway and routine maint. can be done by most owners/enthusiasts due to its simplicity.

Favorite Features

Did I mention fast?

Suggested Improvements

Better interior fit and finish. A removable top would be nice also.

2004, black C5, 8k miles. This is by far the best car I have ever owned. Handles great, The horsepower is excellent and gas mileage to boot. On a recent trip I averaged 31.5mpg. I was blown away. I kept pointing to the dash and laughing to my wife. This was totaly unexpected. I'm 6 ft 2" tall and this thing is comfortable, the HUD and all gauges are easy to see at a glance. All adjustments easily reached. This is now my daily driver and not a day goes by that I dont get home without a smile on my face. If you don't fall in love with this car, then there is something seriously wrong with you.

Favorite Features

All of it.

None, who listens to the radio while driving this car?

I absolutely love this car! I traded in my 1977 Corvette for this one. It is absolutely fun to drive. Super peppy!

Wish that there was a bit more accessible storage up front, ie, for CD's. Also only one cup-holder?

Review

This car is a joy to drive and is far more driveable on a daily basis than most people would ever imagine. Fuel economy is eceptional, usually from 19- 23 mpg city, depending on how aggresively I drive. I really don't have a lot of data on highway mileage (I haven't done any long trips), but on 200 mile trips I have gotten 27 mpg highway. Other owners have told me they have gotten over 30 mpg. This car has also been problem free for the 4 yrs I have owned it. In recent years, other cars have caught up with it in performance, but 0-60 in less than 5 seconds and 13.1 at 107 mph stock is still respectable in the 1/4 mile. With performance mods, this car can hold it's own with anything out there.

Favorite Features

HUD and active handling.

Suggested Improvements

None.

2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2dr Coupe (5.7L 8cyl 6M)

Review

My review title is a little misleading. For the most part, I do respect the speed limits (sort of). I bought my Z06 new and absolutely love it. It's a pain to keep clean since it's black, but I wouldn't have any other color. The car is really fast and if I keep it in 6th on the freeway I can maintain 28 MPG. I knew when I bought my Vette that there wasn't much leather on the interior. So those of you out there shouldn't complain after the fact. this is an amazing car. Did I mention that it's fast?

Favorite Features

My favorite features are the exterior shape and stance. It looks fast just standing still. I like the twin cockpit dash and the HUD display. The seats are comfortable and the fit and finish is good. I haven't had any problems with this car since buying it new over 3 1/2 years ago.

Suggested Improvements

Since any suggested improvements I might have had for the 2004 model have been correct in the C6 models, I have no suggestions.

2004 Chevrolet Corvette 2dr Convertible (5.7L 8cyl 4A)

Review

My Corvette convertible has been an absolute pleasure to own and drive. We are both 60 and purchased it as a "getaway" vehicle. Boy have we gotton away and in style, reasonable comfort and believe it or not, pretty good gas mileage. The car's trip computer gives us an average of almost 22mpg over the 20K+ miles we have driven since new.Chevy has a 'grand slam" in the Corvette C5, no doubt.Own one and you'll agree! It's performance and build quality is exceptional. The car is tight and rattle free even in the convertible configuration, thanks in large measure to the C5 redesign.Corvette engineering did a great job! Ownership has been a 9.8 experience and I don't anticipate any change in that!

Favorite Features

Power, acceleration, design, handling and believe it or not, gas mileage!

Suggested Improvements

None, save for ingress and egress improvements for 60 year olds

Review

Sharp car in design, but not in comfort. Very noisy inside, interior materails do not hold up to use. Driver leather replaced twice. Tire wear abysmal, replaced all at 30k. I'm not a hot rodder. This is my 8th Corvette. Great gas mileage. Year round driver, not too bad in snow.

Favorite Features

Style and color

Suggested Improvements

Durable interior with more color choices.

Review

This is my 4th vette (2 C4's, 2nd C5). Almost bought 06 C6 without driving then found it was too tight (me 6"3'). Sold 99 FRC to get this one. FRC was base model with Z51, 04 fully loaded!! Car is solid as a rock. Maybe get a C7 if more interior space (or I shrink). Best of the 4 I've owned !!!

Favorite Features

Non-Z51 ride, heads-up, auto lights / rear-view, dual climate etc.

Suggested Improvements

More interior space, better stereo, shorty shifter, high gloss chrome rims, HID head lamps, satelite radio
