Good catch starrow but unfortunately that special extension has expired as of Feb. 2008, so I didn't mention it. HOWEVER, now that you brought it up, I'll post it anyway and maybe he can lever the dealer or Chevy if he wants to spend the time to do so. This is my first post so please bear with me if I make a gaffo. Also remember this is merely a reporting of my experiences at Carmax, your's may be different (my attorney made me say that... [yes I really have an attorney - this event is not over]) I bought a 2004 Chevy Corvette (C-5) in June of 2007 form the Carmax in Orlando, FL. The salesman said all the ... Read More

I Purchased a 2004 Z06 Z16 near San Diego last Sept and, Holy Cow, what a ride! It had about 9K miles at the time of purchase and I've run it trouble-free for approximately 5K in the last 8 months. I have really enjoyed the conversations you all have posted here and I have spent quite some time going back through the years of posts on this thread, so feel that ... Read More

I hope that chevy takes care of your problem and replaces the car, but i had a similar case with a 2004 BMW 330. It had a faulty auto transmission from the factory. It was replaced with a rebuilt transmission. The dealer explained that they would only replace it with a rebuilt and not a new one. I was very upset and tryed every thing but legal matters. They explained to ... Read More

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been named an "All-Star" by Automobile Magazine. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) introduced a brand new award for a "truly exceptional vehicle that sets new standards". The inaugural AJAC 'Most Coveted Vehicle Award' went to the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Chevrolet Corvette C6 was named Car & Driver's "10Best Cars: Best Performance Car" for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and I might ... Read More

They say right in the advertising that Corvette is excluded. So be it! As a matter of fact GM has two programs, employee and supplier sales, and they are usually set up for dealer stock and are voluntary for the dealer. It is a rare Corvette that ever sees either program except for the end of the 2004 model year. Trying to make it out as a scam is so naive ... Read More

The following is from an article USA Today, which has much more info on other GM models, Ford and DC. FWIW: GM also is offering no-interest financing on many 2004 models for loans as long as five years. "I sold 52 Corvettes last month," said Scott Montgomery, sales manager at Les Stanford Chevrolet in Dearborn. "Zero for 60 should clean out the last of them." GM customers with leases that don't ... Hi All, Virgin poster here. I bough my first Vette on December 31st, an incredible blue LeMans Commemorative Edition 2004. Can I say that I am in love? (yes, with the car) I haven't seen much posting about this particular car, but I am curious what the aficionados on Corvettes think about this model. I come from a Corvette family and my parents have a few models that are their favorites. ... Read More

  • 2004 Discounts

    Written by: dave000k on Jan 23, 2004 6:49:25 AM

Local Chevy dealers in my area are advertising $9,000-$10,000 off MSRP on new Corvettes. I guess the 2004's are not selling because potential buyers are waiting for the C6. As someone who has longed dreamed of owning a Corvette, I wonder if the C6 is worth waiting for considering the MSRP will probably be higher and not discounted? Thanks.

  • XLR has same bodyframe.. what does that hint?

We have already found out the 2004 Cadillac XLR will have the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette's bodyframe, which obviously means that hints a shape for the next-gen Vette. Will that mean that it will have kind of the same shape, or the same type of alluminum? What are your ideas? Right now; I'm clueless.

  • New spy pictures of the Corvette.... are they real?

Sometime last year, I was sitting on my computer looking at my car magazine while online at Edmunds, and looked at a spy picture of the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. Then I looked at a picture of the 'concept' 2004-2005 Ford Mustang. I thought not, but many people were convinced to buy one when they went to the New York Auto Show. I'm afraid that Chevrolet is losing there grip. Ford's new ... Read More
