I own a 2002 Dodge Viper and I feel the Viper sometimes never gets the credit it deserves and this article does it justice. It is a super mean car that is not real friendly but will get your adrenaline flowing. One thing that I noticed which actually can be considered flattery is the door to front end profile of the 2003 and up Vipers (changed the body style in 2003) ... Read More
I'm not sure if this is the best board for this but I feel compelled to alert any and all fellow corvette owners of a problem I've just found out about. However, I must attend to selfish motives too: so if any of you have any knowledge/experience to this problem I'd love to hear from you and how you resolved it. I have a 2002 triple black convertible C5. I've owned ... Read More
Jmess: I am sorry to hear about the problem you posted yesterday regarding your Z06. I hope things work out for the better -- or even the BEST. I know how you feel, as I have been GM's guinea pig (sp?) for the original C5 in 1997. I was among the first to find two of their eventual recall items. Here's why I am writing. I've been reviewing a bunch of ... Read More
The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been named an "All-Star" by Automobile Magazine. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) introduced a brand new award for a "truly exceptional vehicle that sets new standards". The inaugural AJAC 'Most Coveted Vehicle Award' went to the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Chevrolet Corvette C6 was named Car & Driver's "10Best Cars: Best Performance Car" for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and I might ... Read More
Comparisons that pick on specific items in opposite directions seem less than useful. Ask for more warranty but compare to cars with lower prices, maybe your not as close to the market as the car is. 1. Got 6/60 and 5/60 warranty on the two C5's we have, not a great additional cost and the 2002 has already recouped about half it's cost for an electronic module that is not ... Read More
Post #284 is spreading misinformation. Chevy might be playing catch up with some of its cars, but not with the Corvette. The LS2 is a 6.0 liter, not a 6.2 as described. Chevy has not taken a long time to come up with a 400 hp engine, not compared to other car manufacturers. Maybe Charts2 forgot about the LS6, the 5.7 liter 385 hp engine that came out in 2001, then ... Read More

RE: "A few things to consider about the 50th Anniversary"- You'll notice that my solution for GM to make the 50th special relies on using a tuner like Lingenfelter to do most of the work. If you check out the Car & Driver story on the Lingenfelter supercharged Vette, you'll find the answers to your concerns: 1. EPA City rating for the supercharged car is 18 mpg--about the same as a ... Read More
From press release on GM and Ford programs: "For the Chevrolet Corvette, interest rates range from zero for a three-year loan to 2.9 percent for five years." Good way to save a couple thousand if you are in the market.
