1998 Chevrolet Corvette 2 Dr STD Coupe
- Review
-
I have enjoyed driving this car. I have driven other sports cars and this by far exceeds the exhiliration I have ever felt before. Thank you Chevrolet.
- Favorite Features
-
The acceleration from 90+ mph. The gas mileage is much better than I could've expected. It's a head turner.
- Suggested Improvements
-
My only suggestion is a cup holder but I have taken care of that situation.

I didn't mean to buy it, but the test drive sold it. I'm 50 now, and wanted a Corvette since I was a teenager. I've never had a car that has received so much attention. Mechanics come out and talk about it. People in the waiting room talk about it. My good friend shook my hand to tell me it's the best thing I ever bought. My wife and daughter want to drive it all the time. People at work talk about it. People on the road act like they want to race. Don't buy this car if you dislike attention.

- Review

98 Vette Ragtop with the six speed. Unbeatable performance-to-dollar ratio. Bought it with 17k miles on it; the Delco 12 CD-changer never has worked, the steering column lock failed first at 18,000 miles and then again six months later. Both times got no help from GM (dealer and corporate), $500 per repair out of my pocket. Finally found a company out of Texas that sold an aftermarket bypass and had the local Vette shop install it. Problem solved. The performance and status outweigh the GM quirks. After my experience with GM customer service I would NEVER again purchase a GM product...except, of course, another Vette. Go for the extended warranty next time, I'll need it!
- Favorite Features
-
Performance! Your arrival anywhere is an event. Utility: the trunk swallows my huge ice hockey bag, even with the trunk down. Try that with the M3!
- Suggested Improvements
-
Electronics, steering column lock, cup holder!, shifter, GM customer service.

- Review

Bought the car used but have loved
every minute of my ownership. Only
real problem was with the electronic
steering lock. Phenomenal storage
capability, even with the top down.
Acceleration is great...able to beat
most of the cars I cross. Great
handling, even at high speeds (130+
mph). Car turns heads and garners
questions all the time. There is
nothing in the world like driving an
American classic with the wind in your
hair.
- Favorite Features
-
Power, acceleration, looks, being part
of the Corvette family...Save the Wave!
- Suggested Improvements
-
Interior still reminds me of a
slightly nicer Cavalier or Camaro.
Wouldn't hurt nicen it up a bit.

It can run with the best. Great, no
major problems. little or no after
market parts to become succesful in
racing. Scared me the first time I
drove it. Lots of Power
- Favorite Features
-
Love the six speed manual, and the
convertible top has no faults, just
needs taking care of to keep going,
just regular maitnence
- Suggested Improvements
-
The rear end could use a little more
down force, gets hard to keep on the
road after about 120 MPH, but after
market spoiler took care of this.

Excellent performance and still good
fuel economy. Ride is considerably good
for a true sports car. Removeable top
is nice and still has adequate luggae
storage for road trips. Best feature is
the Corvette family and wave :)
- Favorite Features
-
Performance! removeable top, and
driving a Corvette!
- Suggested Improvements
-
GM please fix the electronic column
lock issue once and for all with a true
bypass. Road noise is a bit much but it
is worth it to drive a car with this
styling and performance. Noisy and hard
riding runflat tires. A few more horses
are always welcome :)

I pursched this car as a runabout. I
grew up with Porsche and have had
numberous in the stable and currently
have 2 911's. I enjoy the car. It is
relatively reliable with no
significant events to date except that
the battery came apart from the past
and leaked down in the engine bay.
Upon opening the trunk in the rain, it
all pours inside the storage bay.
This suspension is alittle soft, so I
have to adjust the ride to performance
mode to stop from being thrown into
the roof. The performance is adequate,
the zo6 is probably the better option.
- Favorite Features
-
Front end the roof line and the side
- Suggested Improvements
-
Fix the butt of the car, it is my
opion that it doesnt flow with the
front and the side of the car.

63000 miles, no real issues. 28+ mpg
on highway, 165+ mph capability.
Trunk will hold two golf bags and
luggage for two people for three weeks.
We have driven as many as 960 miles in
a single day and the car is
comfortable and easy to drive.
Active handling is a benefit.
Indy Pace Car colors and trim is bold,
but tastefully done. Many, many
thumbs up, photo requests and
discussions when stopping for fuel.
Would do it again.
- Favorite Features
-
Power, gas mileage, trunk space, run-
flat technology
- Suggested Improvements
-
Cup holders - Need two, not just one.
and both should be deeper to hold cups
in place.

Best vette convertible I ever owned.
Had a gauge burn out and that's it in
62,000 miles.
Changed tires to Firestone Firehawk
for better all round performance. Car
turns heads and always gets comments.
Love the red/tan color and it's a
pleasure to own. Had over 30 vettes
and this is the most pleasurable yet.

Better quality top and a tad more
interior room
