I had to change the battery for the first time on my 2005 Colorado yesterday. Now my door locks won't work, drivers window won't work, and I did notice the heater for a split second would go off then back on. I am having the same issue with my 2009 Canyon and did the same things that Dave tried with no luck. Radio stays on when I open the driver's side door but shuts off when I open the passager side door. Any solutions John

Carbon build up sounds as if it's running very rich. They should check your fuel system. Don't know about the tranny. Maybe related thru the central computer.

Hey folks I just bought a 2009 Colorado LT1 with the 2.9 engine as part of the cash for clunkers, It has a total of 1200 miles on it. I had to take it in to the dealer already because it was back firing and they said there was a service bulletin about the exhaust seal between the caytiltic converter and the muffler. The Colorado is abysmal in quality and finish. The 5 cylinder engine rounds out the list. One is down to the Tacoma, Frontier and Ridgeline for something in the mid size segment. Possibly the Dakota if you need to tow but then you can get better deals and quality in the Full size Chevs/Fords than the Dakota. If you want quality in GM you have to go with the Silverado/Sierra full ... Read More

I am aware that they have had some reliability issues with some 2004/2005 models regarding valve springs and premature tire failure, but I am not familiar with quality and finish.
