You could have sat down and read and reread the owners manual so you wouldn't have to ask this question as you would know what is needed to be done. Also waiting till the oil light comes on in most peoples opinion is waiting till the oil has outlived it usefulness. I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado. What kind f maintenance should be preformed by 54,000 miles other than oil change?? I am a single mom of 3 & I have no clue! I have not done any kind of maintenance other that Oil Changes (when the light comes on). Now...I know my vehicle & it just doesnt seem ok. The gears are not catching on right! WHAT SHOULD I DO! Here is my whole thought on the matter - I know that Isuzu and Gm were to be joint developing this truck and if it is indeed true that Isuzu flubbed up and didn't create an engine bay big enough to hold the I6 (which would have been awsome in the Colorado), than I am curious to see what might happen in the future. I just purchased a 2008 Chevy Colorado 2.9L crew cab.  At 1400 mi I began noticing a knocking/rattling noise during cold start-ups. The noise diminishes after a few seconds, but has now worsened at 4100 mi.   I have recently brought the truck into the dealer for servicing.  Their initial diagnosis was that the spark plugs were making the noise!!!  Spark plugs!!!  ... I also have read all about the new V8 in the Colorado but my local chevy dealer says that there will be no V8 for the Colorado this year. He says that all of the reps. he has talked to says " no V8". I guess we will just have to wait and see. Read More...
