"As a matter of fact, the vehicle computers are HARD WIRED and the computer program is burned into a chip. The only way you can change the programming on them is to REFLASH the memory chip..." Hi Dennis, I don't believe this is entirely true. I'm not intimately familiar with automobile computers but I do know a bit about them in general. Granted much of the executable code on these BCMs, ... Read More

I have to chuckle with this "Customer Care"represenatives trying to drum up business for their dealerships. How about arranging a recall on the truck? The "we're sorry with your frustration" reminds me of those banking ads with 'Peggy'. You guys do know that there was a SB on the fuse block, right? When I had my initial problem with the window/fob/battery, they initially nailed me for a new $450 BCM, assuring me that was the problem. Two days later, same problem. Sorry to hear about your problems Mark. I don't know how much time you'd had to go through the 450+ posts here, but your truck has all the lemon symptoms, the driver's window, blower, BCM, tail lights. If you haven't experienced it yet, there are also huge problems with a fuse block, the engine head, instrument panel, door locks, blower resistor, dead battery, CD player that doesn't work. That is a great post, one of the best and most informative on the problem. It makes sense and it sounds like logical troubleshooting. I wish you had posted it back in 2007 before I took the Colorado in for service to the local Chevy dealer. Of course the Chevy dealer said, "Don't believe ANYTHING you read on internet, we're the experts..." Uh-huh, yeah, right. If you still own a Colorado ... Read More

Ray, you have the same problem that most of these 400 posts are about and it is a problem must Colorados and Canyons have and one that Obama Motors has "never heard of" in the 5+ years it has been happening. If you take your truck to a dealer they will shoot in the dark and replace components like the BCM until the problem resolves itself until the next time it ... Read More

First-off, I don't own a Colorado, but I've been eyeing them since they first came out last year. Currently, I drive a 2001 Ford Escape XLT V6. Nice small(er) SUV with sucky gas-mileage, but it hasn't been too problematic otherwise. The reason I posted is that I've got friend who's a mechanic at a local Chevy dealership. I really like the whole Chevy Colorado thing! It looks like the rear seat area on the 4-door models will be bigger than the S10 and that is nice. There will be a lot of combinations to choose from and that is nice. I love the idea of relatively small and high-tech engines! Performance and Fuel Economy can and should co-exist. This is why I would like to request that Colorado ... Read More
