Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon Engine Problems

Re: Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon: Engine Problems [j420]

I have had my 2006 Colorado I5 3.5L 4x4 for about a year and a half. It has got just over 88000 miles on it. I am from Canada, but i bought my truck from the states with 47000 miles. (went to school for a year, was driving back and forth everyday) Everything was all good, i loved my truck, but lately, in about the last 3 months or so they check engine light has been coming on ... Re: Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon: Engine Problems [weezy3]

I baught my 2006 5 cyl Colarado in January 2007 as a new vehicle. It runs fine now, but I only have 20K on the engine, since I own and drive two other cars. My problem is that my warranty ends in about 7 months. I don't want to be stuck with a $3000 repair bill, but I love the truck. I called the dealer and was told that my VIN was not subject to a warranty extension at this time. ... Read More...

Re: Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon: Engine Problems [chevyman29]

I just took my 2006 Colorado into the dealer due to rough idle also. It has 64,000 miles on it. You guessed it the head was bad. They are going to replace it for free. Would have been around $3000.00. If you have problems with your 5-cyl. engine idling rough make sure you tell the dealer that you know of this problem. Make sure the call the GM rep to see if your VIN fits into ... Read More...

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon Electrical Problems

Re: 2005 Colorado flipping out [mrwebman]

OK, so I'll take the blower problem out of the mix and just get a replacement resistor pack. Good, one down. Now, I cleaned my MAF sensor today and it made no difference whatsoever to the way the engine idles. The engine is fluctuating between 450 and 700 rpm at idle so this presumably must be the AIC? sensor or a vacuum leak as the engine light code suggests. My 2006 ... Read More...

Re: Wiring problems [ECR223]

Yeah, there is someone on this forum that thinks that all the electrical problems are due to bad grounds. That may have something to do with it, but the window/door lock thing seems tied to a fried battery, and the fried battery in my case tied with with a fried fuseblock that there was a service bulletin on. Since the fuseblock fix, no more electrical problems in ... Read More...

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon Owner Experiences

Chevrolet service department

I have a 2006 Colorado, with 55000 km. Not only do I have paint issues, I have replaced my head light bulbs twice, my licience plate blubs, and my brake light bulbs! Obviously there is a grounding issue. Now the emergency brake sticks on when the release is pulled. I took it in to the dealership where I bought it, (Paul Sadlon Motors-Barrie,Ontario,Canada) and the ... Read More...

Chevrolet Colorado Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: Chevy Colorado Pricing [bwherr]

Look up your vehicle used on kbb.om or edmunds .com since that is what your car is now for practical purposes. That may be a mediocre price on a new 07 much less an 06. Good luck --jjf A left over, never titled 2006 Chevrolet Colorado with a window sticker of $21,230.00 can be mine for $16,500.00 plus tax and title. Is this a fair price? Read More...
