Re: Article Comments - 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan XFE Full Test [KarenS]
I have some problems with the road test. First off, the mileage difference between a bare bones LS XFE and my 09 LT1 coupe that has all the basics -automatic, cruise, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, keyless entry etc along with better seats is minimal. Why be uncomfortable for a couple of miles per gallon. I can always drive slower if I have problems with ... Read More...
Lead Feet at Edmunds?
I owned a 2006 Cobalt 5 speed coupe and got 35 mpg with in on highway trips, and 33 mpg on my mostly freeway commute. It only had one defect: a rattle in the dash. I just traded in a 2008 Honda Fit on a 2009 Cobalt Sedan LS, auto transmission, ABS & protection package & spare tire. I got $1500 off in rebates, $600 off from the dealer, and $1,000 off from my GM Card. Discounts ... Read More...

Re: Article Comments - 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan XFE Full Test [KarenS]
Wow- Edmunds really has a chip about the Cobalt. My 2008 Cobalt LS XFE sounds like a Cadilac compared to the 2009 Cobalt XFE. My gas milage is above EPA estimates and I don't drive like grandma. Maybe I could work for Edmunds? Read More...

Fuel economy. It's on everyone's mind and the guys at Chevy want you to know it's on theirs, too. So once you equip the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS sedan with a five-speed manual transmission, it becomes the XFE eXtra Fuel Economy. 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan XFE Full Test Read More...
Re: Bought the '09, So Much Better than My 2008 Fit [tsjay]
OnStar and XM Radio? I'm loving the XM radio, there are so many channels to chose from I can fairly easily find some odd-ball stuff of interest. Makes me realize how completely repetitive the playlists are on most FM stations. VVT (variable valve timing) on the 2.2 engine, which seems to have made the 2.4 redundant for now (the 2.4, besides having more displacement, ... Read More...
Impressions of the 2009 LS Sedan from a Former '06 Coupe Owner
Boy the 2009 automatic is good. The engine has gotten stronger over the years (now up to 155 or so horsepower!) while mileage has gone up (from 30 under the "old" measurement to 30 under the "new" measurement to 33 this year despite the stricter EPA testing). I like the "digital information center" which now shows the actual pressure in each tire (my other two cars ... Read More...

Re: 2009 Cobalt 2.2 Engine [tsjay]
I assume that it will improve when it gets broken in. Compared to a 1999 Century (17) and my 2003 DeVille (15) it is great. The best thing about the car (compared to Toyotas and other Japanese compacts) is the ride. I don't see much difference from the 2006 Impala I had. Obviously there is no comparison with the Cadillac but for a small car it rides very well. Toyotas ... Read More...

I'm about to buy a 2009 Cobalt LT Coupe. I've rented several with no problems at all and got roughly 28 mpg on the average in local driving. Your car is under warranty. Find a Chevy dealer near you and tell him to fix the problems. These cars are all computer controlled. The gas mileage and starting problems sound to me like a computer glitch. If the dealer fails to correct ... Read More...
