2005 Chevy Colbalt Jerks in cCold Weather
Did you fix the problem?
My 2006 chevy Cobalt LS does the same thing in hot and cold weathers. It is common. I usually let my car warm up about at least 10 minutes. If you have remote starter and your heater preset, it is alot nicer. Plus, it is better for your car if you give it least 10 mins to warm up. Another way, raise your rpms to 1500 hold a steady pressure on the accelator. It will warm you ... Read More...

Chevrolet Cobalt: Stopping Short Problem
Re: Misc Problems [dft56]
My 2006 Cobalt LS, was in a Showroom before I brought it, never had any problems until after 50,000 miles, I had to do some minor repairs on it, next step is the fuel filter, and brakes. One thing good about it is the gas milage which consumes 34mpg/hwy 27mpg/city and also, never had to buy brakes for my car since I brought it, of course now the brakes are starting to squeek. ... Re: Stopping Short Problem [ladyme]
Is your cobalt an automatic or Stick Shift? because if it is a stick shift, it could be the clutch. Meaning that either you are letting go the clutch pedal too soon when the streetlight turns green and you are trying to rush the traffic. Just by letting go the clutch pedal too soon will stall the engine and cause it shutdown leaving the radio on (safety feature) Of course, ... Read More...

2006 Cobalt losing coolant and running rough
Hi we have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. The engine is a 2.2 according to oil change records (hubby is gone and I know nothing about cars). It has around 56,000 miles on it. All of a sudden several things have went wrong with it. I don't know if they are all related or not since I know nothing about cars, but since they started happening around the same time I assumed they were. ... Read More...
Chevrolet Cobalt Real World MPG
06 Cobalt LS
My doorframe says 30 psi but the tires says never to exceed 40 psi. Strange world. Guess we will never know. Funny how the world works, but my advice I can give is just go what best suits you. My uncle is a mechanic, for his cars he always put 32 psi in all his tires and even with my cars. He never had problems with 32. Today, I set all my tires at 30 psi, according to the doorframe ... Problem with engine hesitation, might be simple.
I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS (4 door-sedan) with 52,800 miles. Sometimes when I slow down and stop at a street light (not a speeder and don't stop fast), it seems like my car wants to stall. When I get moving again it's fine, it could be a simple thing to fix but any suggestions? I change the oil, oil filter, air filter, carbon air filter every 3,000-3,500 miles but, ... Read More...
Chevrolet Cobalt Prices Paid and Buying Experience
2006 LS Sedan
Just paid $6,850 (after tax, dealer fee) for a 2006 Cobalt LS Sedan in Victory Red with 51k miles. Previous owner was obviously a heavy smoker and, as you probably know, the car doesn't have any features to speak of ... but I don't care about those things. My husband in particular is actually very enthusiastic about the crank windows. Power windows in his old car ... Read More...

Lead Feet at Edmunds?
I owned a 2006 Cobalt 5 speed coupe and got 35 mpg with in on highway trips, and 33 mpg on my mostly freeway commute. It only had one defect: a rattle in the dash. I just traded in a 2008 Honda Fit on a 2009 Cobalt Sedan LS, auto transmission, ABS & protection package & spare tire. I got $1500 off in rebates, $600 off from the dealer, and $1,000 off from my GM Card. Discounts ... Read More...
