2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I purchased my car thinking I would save on gas being I had previously driven a truck. The car had to get the struts replaced, the pads have been replaced twice and I'm not even over 60,000 miles. Additionally, I keep having little things go wrong that add up and get frustrating. The check engine light goes on almost monthly now and I a to replace fuses on a regular basis. Also, the interior carpeting stinks. There is a gap on the passenger side that looks tacky. Another problem with the car is the ventilation speeds aren't consistent. When I turn the vent on high it blows hard, however if I have it on speed 1-3 I can feel nothing and it is frustrating.

2.2 ecotec is best 4 cyl GM has ever made. It's quiet, has decent power and low maint with 28mpg. Suspension had some squeaking, but some graphite powder on the bushings has taken care of that. That's the only problem I've had in 6000 miles. Audio system stinks and I replaced with Alpine deck, Infinity's in the front doors and Pioneers in the rear deck. I've mainly owned Hondas and Toyotas but this was such a value I couldn't pass it up and so far I'm happy with it.
Favorite Features
Smooth ride with new Pirelli P4 four season tires.
Suggested Improvements
None because model is no longer made.

I love my car. It's the same color as the one pictured. The car looks so classy and expensive but yet its so affordable, I only payed $8.900 for mine and its great. I love the interior its so comfortable and it has so much space! The trunk is also huge and holds just about anything I need. The only negative is that I was told it had a V6 in it, when in fact it has a 4cyl but it gets really good gas mileage, and that's more important being that gas prices are outrageous. I think with this car the only thing to be careful of is choosing the right exterior color, a lot of colors make it look a little cheap.
Favorite Features
Interior, automatic seats, trunk, CD player, 4 cup holders, lots of room!
Suggested Improvements
I also had problems with my carpet on the driver's side, they cut the carpet too short and gradually it pulls out.

I use the car for a carpool of 4 persons. I get between 26 and 29 MPG hauling about 775 pounds. I drive it conservatively. Hope to get about 7 years of driving with it. I've had engine oil gaskets replaced under the warranty.
Favorite Features
Rides well. Has a good radio. Trunk is good size.
Suggested Improvements
Wipers could clear more of the windshield. Carpet cut too small for the driver's compartment, creating a gap along the left side.

Good Buy

Review
I bought my 2005 Classic in September 2006 and have found it to be reliable and most of all comfortable. The gas mileage stated 25 MPG in the city and I would say I am getting close to that, maybe a little less. The comfort factor and generous truck space made it a sale. Price was a big concern. I was able to get mine for $9,000 with about 29,000 on it. It drives like a new car. I agree with the review about the carpet being cut too small for the passenger compartment.
Favorite Features
Trunk space and auto lights are great.
Suggested Improvements
Cut the passenger carpeting to fit. Knobs for radio require you to look at them to adjust, can't feel my way so well.

High miles, low operating cost - Good value
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A)
Review
Driving an average of 1200mi/wk, I require reliability and economy. Highway average always 30-38. This car starts every day, and I feel confident driving it daily w/o the distraction of 'issues'. OEM tires (Eagles) are superb still with over 80k on them. Brakes are average. Body integrity above average, but with odd paint peel on rear bumper!? At 25k, sway bar bushing went. Recently (81k) I replaced fr wheel bearing (sealed unit, $375), struts ($325), and a few misc items. Now the rear power window doesn't work (hardly used!). Interior design is awkward and tight. Interior road noise level is bearly acceptable at highway speeds. Car tends to labor up hills, has acceptable acceleration otherwise. Handling is very good.
Favorite Features
Interior comfort, room, trunk size. Adjustable seats. Fuel economy. Operating costs. Safety ratings.
Suggested Improvements
Open up interior console so it isn't crowded and tight. Reduce radio size. Gear up for more initial accelaration. Increase seat frame stength.

Best Car I've Owned
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A)
Review
My 2005 Chevy Classic is an awesome car. It has the perfect combination of safety, comfort, reliability, and performance. Fuel economy is excellent for its size, which by the way, despite being a bigger car, has the same size fuel tank as my last car, a 2002 Cavalier. The Classic's cost of ownership is quite low because it costs less to maintain and insure. It also makes a great family car because it is very roomy and comfortable, and can adjust to any size person. Although hard to find, I highly recommend the Classic to anyone.
Favorite Features
6-way power driver's seat; it allowed me to throw away my seatbelt adjuster!
Suggested Improvements
Larger glove box; an atlas of mine fit in my Cavalier's glove box, but not in this one. Also, I have learned to ignore the "low fuel" light because it comes on when you still have 2.5 gallons of gas left.

Car Stinks

2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A)
Review
This car stinks! We have owned this car about 9 months and it has been a nightmare. It has been at the dealership for repairs about 13 times in 9 months. The intermediate shaft has been replaced or repaired 4 times. The gas mileage stinks. We are lucky to get 15-17 MPG. The calipers, rotors and pads had to be replaced at 10,000 miles. The sunvisor clip has broken several times. On trips the car is very comfortable and roomy but overall I would not reccommend it to anyone.
Favorite Features
Comfortable and very roomy.
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage, I'm tired of visiting the gas station!

2005 Chevrolet Classic Fleet 4dr Sedan (2.2L 4cyl 4A)
Review
Overall, I really like the car. I view it as a value vehicle. Lots of nice stuff for under $20,000. Just the kind of car I like. I question some design and construction, though. 1. The hood blocks the outward movement of the wipers. Pulling them out to clean the lower windshield is difficult. 2. Transmission lever when in PARK, makes using the heater knobs difficult. Also heater knobs are under an overhang from the radio and some of the selections for the heater are difficult to see. 3. Carpet was cut too narrow in the driver's compartment and there is a gap between the edge of the compartment and the carpeting. A properly fitting piece of carpet should have been installed.
Favorite Features
1. High beams really light up the road ahead. 2. Nice size trunk. 3. Four-cylinder engine has decent power yet delivers acceptable gas mileage (28 mpg while hauling three adults). 4. Smooth ride. 5. Radio has good sound quality, including good bass and treble.

I've had a hard time with small sedans finding a comfortable car, being 6' with long legs. The Malibu Classic is just right for me; with a power seat and peppy 4 cylinder engine, it's the perfect blend of price, comfort, and performance for my taste. Did I mention the price? Hard to beat at $11k with less than 16k miles.
Favorite Features
Power driver seat, cruise control, power windows, and gas mileage
Suggested Improvements
Standard fold-down rear seats
