Hi everyone, I have a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport. I just recently had everything checked and a few things replaced. The front brakes replaced (brake masters), new tires put on, and just yesterday I paid a mechanic to replace the two front Window motors in both doors (performed at my home). My car was finally running in tip-top shape, or so I thought. After trying to start my car in ... Read More

From what I have been reading, the window motor issue is VERY common in the 2004 Cavalier. I am also in the same boat. All four windows on my Cavalier are stuck (Thankfully in the up position). I have been researching for recalls on these motors, but it doesn't appear that Chevy intends to do anything about these as I have found no such luck in that regard. With that in ... Read More

I was wondering how to know, on my 2004 Cavalier, if my power window switch is bad. It is easy to replace but at least $55.00 to replace buying online or 87.00 from a local Chevy dealer. I am guessing it might be the switch by the way it acted when I disconnected the switch from the wiring and then the driver's side would not down. First it was just the ... Read More

I have an 04 Chevy Cavalier with 72,000 miles on it. I hadn't thought about replacing the suspension until about a month ago when my car started sqeaking. Whenever I go over rough surfaces my car squeaks. Sometimes it seems to be coming from the front and other times the back. I haven't been able to isolate it. I've had an Olds where the suspension went bad and the car did ... Read More

I am glad you are enjoying your Cavalier. I too have a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, and it now has 5800 miles. I am enjoying it, and absolutely nothing has gone wrong, although there are a few rattles in the dash. Soon, the car will be taking a 250 mile trip, which will be enjoyable. Also, it gets great gas mileage compared with my Ford Expedition.

I decided to give Chevy a chance since they have been so good to the economy...by being good to car buyers. I have seen their ratings improve considerably on quality and consumer satisfaction over the years. They haven't had the major stumbles like Ford had on the Explorer and and the Focus (quality control issues on the Focus, mainly related to the first year). I also have a Ford Focus ZX3 ... I had the transmission, head gasket, and water pump replaced within 2 years. My 93 has close to 180,000 miles on it and most of the parts replaced were due to old age. The 93 is faster and I ...
