Hi everyone, I have a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport. I just recently had everything checked and a few things replaced. The front brakes replaced (brake masters), new tires put on, and just yesterday I paid a mechanic to replace the two front Window motors in both doors (performed at my home). My car was finally running in tip-top shape, or so I thought. After trying to start my car in ... Read More
From what I have been reading, the window motor issue is VERY common in the 2004 Cavalier. I am also in the same boat. All four windows on my Cavalier are stuck (Thankfully in the up position). I have been researching for recalls on these motors, but it doesn't appear that Chevy intends to do anything about these as I have found no such luck in that regard. With that in ... Read More
my 2004 cavalier won't pass an emissions test. the check engine light is on, several tests were done, issues cleared but the light comes back on. Any ideas of what it could be?? Thanks!
I have a 2004 chevy cavalier and the speedo gauge stated going wacko, it would slow down then jump up to max, now my temp gauge starts to max out then drop to 0. Any idea, is there a common problem, or recall. By the way hello Pat and Karens.
Hi im sorry to go off subject but im a green horn to this forum and im having a little trouble figuring out where to get started. I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, It has a 2.2 liter engine, and i was wondering how many O2 sensors it has. My reason for asking is because I would like to know if it is possible to connect a voltage adder to the ... Read More
I was wondering how to know, on my 2004 Cavalier, if my power window switch is bad. It is easy to replace but at least $55.00 to replace buying online or 87.00 from a local Chevy dealer. I am guessing it might be the switch by the way it acted when I disconnected the switch from the wiring and then the driver's side would not down. First it was just the ... Read More
I have an 04 Chevy Cavalier with 72,000 miles on it. I hadn't thought about replacing the suspension until about a month ago when my car started sqeaking. Whenever I go over rough surfaces my car squeaks. Sometimes it seems to be coming from the front and other times the back. I haven't been able to isolate it. I've had an Olds where the suspension went bad and the car did ... Read More
Hi all, I am a newby to this forum and have no much knowledge about cars. I'm planning to buy a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier VLX, 6600Km, auto, sunroof, a/c, am/fm stereo, CD, all power. The person who is selling it asks for $13K (CAN). Do you think it is a good deal? I didn't see the car yet. Also, what kind of things should I check when going for a drive ... Read More
Sorry, but the forum won't allow me to post a new topic for some reason. Could someone please help me. I bought a used 2004 chevy cavalier. It has no manual. Where is the dipstick for the transmission fluid? I can't find it. Please send me an e-mail at email@example.com if you can help me. Thanks so much! Have a great day!!
I am glad you are enjoying your Cavalier. I too have a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS, and it now has 5800 miles. I am enjoying it, and absolutely nothing has gone wrong, although there are a few rattles in the dash. Soon, the car will be taking a 250 mile trip, which will be enjoyable. Also, it gets great gas mileage compared with my Ford Expedition.
Well, I'm glad this is a place to post such info. Not so glad about other.... I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, am a mother turtle speed to normal driver(don't drive the car hard). My car had a fire hazard recall for the ignition start up; it has a current ongoing gas smell (fire hazard) the smell comes in through the vents or A/C or heater when in use, the ... Read More
My 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS was purchased in July of 2004 and it had only 6 miles on it at the time. Now it has over 2500 miles, and I enjoy it thoroughly and have had absolutely no problems. I like the good amount of features.
I decided to give Chevy a chance since they have been so good to the economy...by being good to car buyers. I have seen their ratings improve considerably on quality and consumer satisfaction over the years. They haven't had the major stumbles like Ford had on the Explorer and and the Focus (quality control issues on the Focus, mainly related to the first year). I also have a Ford Focus ZX3 ... Read More
I am a Chevy Cavalier owner of both a 1993 LS and 1997 4 door sedan. I have to tell you that I had more problems with the 97 than the 93. I had the transmission, head gasket, and water pump replaced within 2 years. My 93 has close to 180,000 miles on it and most of the parts replaced were due to old age. The 93 is faster and I ... The Cavalier is an unsafe tin can. If you want to drive around in a 20+ year old design, go ahead be my guest. For the rest of us, we are looking forward to the 2004 Chevrolet Astra that should help GM re-ignite the samll car segment that they abandoned long ago...around 1981.
