$7995 Special Value coupes?
Written by: occupant1 on May 2, 2004 7:41:55 PM
I guess anyone who is willing to shift for themselves can get a terrific deal on one. $10,700 MSRP, TMV is $10,328 in black in my zip code, and several local dealers are showing them in stock in my color (black, of course). I saw two seperate ads in Saturday's Dallas paper advertising SV Coupes for $7995 and every other Chevy ad was $8500-$9000. I wonder if the cars can actually ... Read More

I was SHOCKED !!

I received this in the mail today from GM Protection Plan : "Dear Mr. XXXXXX, This may be your last opportunity to protect yourself against the rising cost of repairs. Your vehicle's GM Warranty may be about to expire, and after that it will be too late to consider GM Protection Plan coverage. This plan offers extended service coverage protecting you against the potential high cost of parts and labor for ... Read More

2002 cavalier automatic gearing
Written by: dezarn on Feb 6, 2004 7:14:41 PM
I have just bought a 2002 automatic chevrolet cavalier sedan, no later than a week of having it, it seems to have gotten weaker. When you take off, it takes longer than normal to change gears. In 2nd gear (automatic) it sticks so long it starts to roar, I get worried it might blow up. I'm a previous owner of a 4 cylinder, so I know what kind of power to ... Read More

Upgrades?

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. It's Millenium Yellow with the ground effects and spoiler. I love the car so far but there is one problem with it. I got the LS Coupe and not the LS Sport so I have the original 2.2 and not the ecotech so there is not alot of HP, at all. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what I can do to increase ... Cavalier Paint
Written by: n_vanexel31 on Dec 13, 2003 8:36:37 AM
I have just bought a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Coupe. I am worried about it rusting in the winter and the paint chipping off. One of my friends has a 2003 LS and he told me that the Cavaliers have a 10 year warranty on the paint job. I was just wondering if that was true. If anyone knows I would appreciate it if you would give your input.

What's Up with This Board?
Written by: jdmorton on Mar 3, 2003 5:01:12 PM
I've noticed there doesn't seem to be the amount of posting on this board, compared to other Chevy boards. Last week I bought another Cavalier (2003 LS 4-door). I bought a 2002 coupe for my daughter last fall, for her senior year internship. In 1984, I got a new Cavalier station wagon, kept it for 10 years, put almost 158,000 miles on it, and then traded it in for a van. ... Read More

2002 Cavalier: Frozen Windshield Wiper Fluid System?
Written by: jdmorton on Dec 1, 2002 3:47:22 PM
I attempted a search for this issue at Edmunds, but I came up with a blank. Anyone experience this problem of not being able to wash their windshield because the fluid dispensing system froze? At least I'm assuming it froze. I purchased a 2002 Cavalier coupe for my daughter, for her senior year college internship. So far no problems. However, today she went back to college after being home for a ... Read More

New to the Cavalier (sorta)
Written by: danz28 on Aug 23, 2002 1:37:37 PM
I got me a 2002 Chevy Cavalier (base) coupe about three months ago. So far it's great! Even though I didn't get any options on it, it is fully loaded. Plus, with the $2500 in rebates, not counting my trade in, I got in for around 10K with 5 year warranty. Try to get a Honda or Toyota with standard CD player, air, ABS, for that! I say sorta because my ... Read More

Cavalier Control Settings Available?
Written by: taskmaster on May 6, 2002 12:39:31 PM
Does anyone one here know of a source (web site or manual) of possible engine control settings that a 2002 Chevy Cavalier can be set to? Specifically if the power steering can be made to drive with a lighter feel or if the engine idle speed, when hot, can be increased? My new Cavalier has an idle of about 500 RPM and the steering feels VERY stiff taking off from a ... Read More

New 2002 Owner Needs Help
Written by: taskmaster on May 1, 2002 7:21:43 PM
First, I could have bought virtually ANY car I wanted. I looked at mid-size sedans but there wasn't one I REALLY liked. Maybe in a few years. I have rented quite a few Cavaliers while traveling and have been amazed how nimble they are but they have a (nearly) mid-size car's ride and feel without the size and expense. I always wanted to own one so when a local L.A., CA ... Read More

The crash test scores of the Cavalier tell the whole story on how outdated this platform is: www.iihs.org The minute GM stops giving $2500 rebates on the Cavalier just watch those things pile up in dealer lots catching dust. Tomcat: The Cavalier will sell again in quantities without hefty incentives when the next generation "Delta" Chevy Astra makes it to market in 2004. GM is hurting in the low end of ... Read More

Screwed by Dealer then Chevrolet....
Written by: allenorygun on Jan 22, 2002 5:22:08 PM
Hello. I'm a positive person, but here's my story. November 11, 2001 I bought a 2002 Cavalier. I got the $2500 rebate. I was also a recent college grad, so I got the $400 rebate also. I was also working for a GM contractor, so I also got a small discount for that. I went to Grant & Hayes Community Chevrolet in Portland, Oregon. They wrote up my deal, giving me ... Read More

that CR bias is such BS
Written by: alpha01 on Jan 15, 2002 10:11:39 AM
I really don't see it. For example, in their tests, the Ford Explorer topped all the other (5)SUVs compared in the September 2001 issue, including 4Runner and Pathfinder. Also, the Explorer Sport Trac and Dodge Dakota were shown to do better than the Tacoma and Fronteir (which got an especially dismal write-up). The Ford Focus is their HIGHEST rated small car (above Protege, Civic, etc) but is not recommended because of ... Read More

I only paid 11000, after the rebates and it's automatic also. I like the gray interior and the cup holders. CD stereo is quite decent. Seats are far more comfortable than Ranger or Focus, maybe even better than Corolla. I have 5k miles now and no problems. I bought this car because I wanted to try something different, and I am glad I bought this car. The civic seats are too ... Read More

The next generation Cavalier...
Written by: teo on Aug 30, 2000 5:56:40 PM
Will be built off the new "Global" GM platform code named "Delta". The car will be a direct spinoff of the all new Opel Astra (GM of Germany)due to debut sometime in 2002 as a 2003 model. Since GM's greatest weakness is their sub-compact/compact model lines (Exception: Chevy Prizm)and most future GM models in this size range will come from Opel in Europe (Where they have had successful small cars).
