i am trying to figure out how to back the rear brakes off of this cavalier. i cant get the rotors off and have not yet come across a problem like this. there is no access hole behind the back to get at the adjuster to back them down. also there is no adjuster on the cable that i can find. any help would be great Read More...

Hi there. I owned a 96 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible SE (basically the same car as yours) and still have the convertible boot. The boot is two pieces...one for each side. It looks nice on the car when the top is down. Let me know if you are interested in this. Thanks. Chris Read More...

As I'm guessing you've found out by now since your post was in July, its actually a 3 piece boot. There's a soft vinyl center piece that should be attached to the back of the rear seat (pull it down to find it). To answer you question about the bumpers the first few years of this design 1995-1996 or 1997, the Cavalier VL (base model) had the grey bumpers. Chevy changed this to give the car a nicer and less rental look. Read More...

I can't answer your question on the difference between the LS and the LS sport. I do wish we'd gotten a 2 door, but at the time we thought my parents were moving to town and would be riding in this car and couldn't see them climbing in and out of a coupe. Maybe it's three pieces? In Full Test: 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Convertible the Edmunds editor mentions a three-piece boot that sounds like it does what you want.
