Stalling after sitting overnight

I have a 1990 chevrolet cavalier 4cyl, 89,000 miles, when it sets overnight or 5 or 6 hours in the yard. It doesn't want to run. My names Matt and I have owned 2 Cavaliers. My first one was a 1992 RS 3.1 wagon. It looked like junk (red primer, tons of rust) but that motor was downright quick and reliable. I'm getting ready to buy a new car and I would like to find another one as inexpensive and dependable as my 1990 Chevy Cavalier has been. I bought it new and hate to part with it, but it's getting up there (it has 229,124 or so miles on it right now) and I know it won't last forever. Any recommendations?
