I'd like to first say to all who have pruchased a new 2010 Camaro - CONGRATULATIONS! It is a really sick looking car with a commanding presence on the road. I love the design & of course the availability of a 426 hp V8, 6-speed manual transmission while the value can't be beat. Growing up my Dad had (and still does, even though it has been sitting in his garage for ... Read More

I stopped by a local Chevy dealer that had a white 2010 Camaro yesterday. Indeed, the car is a looker from the outside. It brings back personal nostalgia I haven't felt in a long while. I'm sure it's different for every American but for me; thoughts of riding in the back seat of my dad's 69 Camaro..with my brother and sister on the way to uncle Mike's house, flash across my ... There's no reason to wait until Chevrolet decides to build a convertible version of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Right here you're looking at the very first pop-top version of Chevy's new pony car, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible by NCE. And this is more than just a look at the car that will debut at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, because we're taking you onboard for an exclusive drive. ... Read More

(I felt compelled to write this after watching a video on edmunds.com starring the 2010 Camaro, 2010 Mustang, and 2009 Challenger) I'm taking a stance. I'm calling the 2010 Camaro ugly as sin. If sin had a mug in the form of a car, it would be the new Camaro. Like most sin, I'm sure it can be fun at times - mostly at night and in low-light situations. But imagine ... Read More

My dad is a diehard Chevy/GM man. I inherited his love for the bowtie: My first car was a 1973 Chevelle Coupe with 350V8 I bought from my granny (dammit, she went in to buy one of the last '72s but they made her a "deal" on the new 1973; ugly car from the 70's instead of a classic muscle car). These are the heavy hitters. The big dogs. They're not playmakers or finesse artists and they don't dish out assists. If the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 is Dick Butkus snuffing out a Jim Brown thrust up the middle, then the 2010 Hennessey Performance Engineering Chevy Camaro SS HPE550 is Lawrence Taylor with radar lock on Joe Theismann's right leg. In response to: FYI - The 2010 Camaro was modeled after the 1969 model. Yes, I was aware of Chevy's intentions in creating the new Camaro; it's just too bad the execution wasn't quite there. I just found the perfect picture to illustrate what I mean; the link is below. Automotive lust in America means blown Camaros. You know, like the red '69s on every cover of Car Craft. A big BDS 10-71 supercharger sticking through the hood and massive M/T drag slicks under tubs in back. Let the rest of the world dream of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and dinky little British two-seaters. Ninco, You really cannot compare these 2 cars. An RX-8 is a much different car. It is much smaller than the Camaro. If the Camaro has more power, is faster, and priced similarly to the RX-8, what difference does it make if it is heavy? That's pretty darn good for a car with 300 HP. In fact, it has almost the same HP as the 2000 Camaro Z28 had (305), although the V6 generates less torque than the V8. Anyway, I think it's a car with plenty of "bang for the buck". ... Read More

What aging Mustang do you have? I test drove the 2004 GT, and while it was not outstanding HP, it was a fine sounding engine, and enough torque. The old Stang looked trimmer, and was indeed more narrow. No need for this chin high belt line with new cars and 18 to 22" rim -- simply ridiculous and costly. Not that the RX-8 has stellar fuel economy.. I'd expect the Camaro V6 to get approximately the same fuel economy as other 300-ish hp cars: Mustang (15/23), G35 (17/25), 335i (17/26), and CTS (16/25) among others. What's the RX-8 at? 16/23, with less power. That's what you get with a rotary engine. Put a similarly powered reciprocating 4-cylinder in there, and you'll gain at least 2 mpg (S2000 is at 18/25). ... Read More

Kudos for GM (Chevrolet) for bring an icon back. Even braver for bringing back a muscle pony car during these times of high fuel prices. Although the V6 is a testiment for an american car company to get 300+ HP, the thing I am most surprise about is the weight (3800 Lbs). As good as the engine can be, the weight could possibley kill the program before it has a chance ... Read More

A pretty good article marred by some pretty glaring errors. As mentioned above, assembly has always been slated for Oshawa, Canada. Also, the LS7 has no future. It will not be in the next Z06 nor the Camaro. It is being replaced by the LS8,9,A, etc. and the upcoming Gen Vs. The rest of the article was basically what I got reading between the lines of the G8/Charger comparo.

Platform sharing. Gotta love it. Car companies spread the cost of developing a crash structure or a suspension system or powertrain over a number of different models that theoretically will appeal to different paying customers. It's economies of scale, as the guys wearing the suits like to call it. Comparison Test, by Proxy: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro vs. 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8
