    We have the same problem. Had oil changed in rear differential and it seemed to help for a couple of months. Next is transmission service. It feels like the jolly green giant just grabs the rear of my blazer and yanks real quick. That is the only way I can describe it. Good luck with that and if I find anything else out I will post for you.

    Watch your temp gauge. I have had two of these do this, and what happened was the thermostat failed in the OPEN mode, which is good for not burning up the engine, but not good for warming up the engine fast enough, which on a 2001 (I think.     I drove my 2002 chevy blazer with no problems all day,when I stopped to get gas it would not start back.It turns over but it doesnt seem to get any fuel.I'm going to change the fuel filter today.If that doesn't work I will change the fuel pump.Does anyone have any other ideas?Why after I filled the tank up did it not start?

    This could be a real stretch but I had a similar problem where I had trouble getting the truck to start every few days where I had to turn the key a couple times, then would stutter when first going, a couple times just stalled out.     I know this sounds stupid, but are you sure the cooling system is full? Each of the issues you discribed can also show up with air in the cooling system. When you accelerate hard, do you hear gurgling in the area over under the glove box (heater core)?

    Thanks for your reply, I'll look into the damper. The temperature gauge has been going higher than it normally does, more like it's about to overheat, until I hit the interstate and begin to accelerate, then it lowers back to normal.

    Julie, there is an air mix damper in the ductwork under the dash. I haven't had to work in this area, but it does sound like it could be your problem. These vehicles do not have the conventional heater control valve, so water is always flowing through the heater core.     It has 120,000 miles and yes I still use the orange antifreeze. It has been flushed and the heater core was replaced in December. Julie

    How many miles on the Blazer, and has the antifreeze been changed and cooling system flushed. Very important, this vehicle uses the long life Dexcool antifreeze and cannot be mixed with conventional ethalene glycol (the green stuff).

    New to this, hope this posts OK. Looking for advice on removing the rear rotors on a 2002 Chevy Blazer, 4WD. I suspect that the emergency brake pads are holding the rotor on. My assumtion is this is a combination rotor / drum design and there is a small ridge that the internal pads are catching as I try to remove the rotor. Can anyone confirm and offer advice? Thanks

    2000 Blazer is stuck in 4wd also at 98k. It occurred prior at 38K, took it to the dealership and called Chevy they extended the warranty and covered the cost, you can try that route, you should still be under warranty. Please let me now what it is, if Chevy is helpful and covers it.

    I also have the roar, I just purchased My 2002 blazer a few days ago and I intend to bring it back to the dealer in a few days to get this checked out. Doesn't seem to me that this would be a normal condition, power loss and loud engine noise? I doubt chevy sent them out of the factory that way, or intended them to in any case.
