Review
Owned Blazer for a year, proved to be fun to drive and handled snow well, but overall not pleased. The V-6 seemed really thirsty even with my unspirited driving habits and wasn't much for power. I rated low for good reasons. The seat trim on drivers seat trim was ripped off the first time my pant leg caught it, pass seat recliner handle broke off, weak door bushings and seal, interior rattled constantly. Service Engine lamp was almost constatly illuminated after repeated trips to numerous dealers and numerous pricey repairs. 4wheel drive was slow to engauge and even slower to disengauge, when equipped with swinging spare tire mount there is no additional support causing dents if opened to hard
Favorite Features
The looks of the suv are excellent, ZR2 package fender flairs and 31- 10.50s give truck a very rugged look, seats very comfortable, provides very respectable cargo room with rear seat up or down, dash very nicely arranged and nice to look at, nice factory stereo, very good heat and a/c
Suggested Improvements
Door bushings go bad and it rains almost as much inside the truck as out, EGR system seems to be nothing but problems, low power high fuel consumption, overall disappointed in the build quality, off road package doesnt really provide any extra capabilities, fender flairs fade, crack in cold weather
Never buying GM again

Look up information before buying the 2000 or surrounding years. It has been nothing but problems. As soon as we hit 60k, things have just been in constant repair and I do all schedule maint. also. From Cheap alloy causing the recliner levels to snap off, Oil cooler lines going bad EVERY 14k miles (issue because of way GM routed them), Door hinges coming off after 130k. Clogged heater cores costing another $1k to fix, ball bearings and joints, Differentials. THis car is costing us an extra $100/month ever year to keep up but we cant afford another car loan at the same time. Do your research through google or anywhere else first. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. NO MORE GM for me.

Love my Blazer

Review
This is my second SUV and I love this one. I owned a 96 Explorer before my Blazer. I wish my Blazer was the same size as the Explorer. I also wish my Blazer had rear air like the Explorer did. I love the 4.3L V6! Tons of power and revs almost to redline. I've never wished for more power. The dash color is not very pretty and I don't like the hump in the passenger foot well for the transfer case. Not alot of rear legroom behind me, I'm 6ft tall. Love everything else about the inside of my Blazer. Adore the heated seats and the seat memory feature. Only problem I had was the heater core went out, it was replaced under warranty. Gas mileage is fine, I didn't buy it for the mileage. Great 4X4!
Favorite Features
Engine, exhaust note. It sounds great when I start it up. Heated seats, sunroof, memory seat. Great and versatile 4X4 system. Both auto 4x4 and full time 4x4. Drove it in ice and snow and have never had a problem. I was a shuttle for my co-workers last winter.
Suggested Improvements
Rear heat/air vents. More rear leg room, but that problem was solved with the Trailblazer.
Overall pretty satisfied

First day I bought this SUV alternator went... it was covered by the dealership so didnt have to pay out of my own pocket. Bought this SUV with 79,000 miles after about 10,000 miles front right tire fell right off while driving due to trashed wheel bearing. ABS/brake lights always on even after replacing brakes. Strong engine great 4WD... I have the ZR2 version, love the raised suspension and big tires... lots of space behind 2nd row seats. Enough room for a 15 inch kicker in a 36 inch box.
Favorite Features
CD player, auto door locks n windows...great during our Boston winters had no problem trucking through 3 ft of snow on 4WD Low. easy to switch from 2WD to 4WD. Comfortable interior. Very tinted windows.
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage about 12 in city 17 highway. more advanced brake systems/wheel bearings... no visibility out of back window or back side windows. Wish it was alittle more reliable

This car drove great. Was my first car, got about 18 to 20 MPG city/highway. Only problem I ever had was the stupid seat recline handle but GM has a metal one for $15 and that one worked great. I was in a crash in October, I had new tires put on and one wasn't secured right by the mechanic and it broke free, the rear tire then blew, I went throght a wall and 2 trees before stopping on the third, this car saved my life. Drives really well, interior is very durable, 5 16 year olds couldn't destroy it so its very good. I would highly recomend this SUV.
Favorite Features
Loud radio, sunroof, cruise control, DRLs, and reliable engine.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the seat recline handle and you have a flawless car.
Maintenance not worth the price

Drives like a bad truck. Didn't hit 20,000 before repair costs started hitting. Now at 45,000 miles replaced axles, replaced wheel bearings, replaced CV boots, replaced blower motor, replaced intake manifold, replaced alternator and battery. Front differential fluid leak, oil leak. Driver's side door squeaks. Avoid this car, unless you're buying my used one.

The car has been a great one so far. The only compaints I have are the excessive engine noise and how ruff is shifts at first. The gas mileage hasn't been too bad but could be a little better for just a midsize SUV.
Favorite Features
Leather seats, sunroof, and all power accessories.
Suggested Improvements
Smoother engine, better handling

I am very pleased with my ZR2

I really have nothing bad to say about the ZR2. It is everything I had expected it to be. It's an SUV so the gas mileage won't be the greatest, I, along with other reviewers have had gas gauge problems but as long as I count the mileage I know how much gas is in the tank. I have had to replace the ball joints on each side, and put new brakes 2 years ago. Other than that I haven't had a problem with the truck. It just turned over 100,000 miles, a couple years ago I saw a Ford F-250 stuck on a guys lawn trying to pull out his tractor that was on a Big Tex Trailer. I asked him if he needed any help and my Blazer pulled both the truck and the Big Tex(with tractor on it) right out of the mud.

I bought the Blazer when it was 4 years old and had 64000 miles. It ran good, but within one month, I brought it in for a new exhaust system, o2 sensor, fuel injection system, and transmission issues. Since then, I have brought it to the dealership on three different occassions which needed to have other mechanical parts replaced. No major issues but many minor problematic parts have had to be replaced. Buy an extended warranty if you get one because these will use it up. Otherwise, the SUV rides decent and has always been dependable as it always starts and has never leaked fluid.
Favorite Features
Heated leather seats with the LT trim are excellent in the cold of winter. Also has driver info display which is good for determining mileage and when to fill up.
Suggested Improvements
Suspension weak, constantly needs to be fixed. Terrible gas mileage.
I'm iffy on this one

When I first bought it - I was excited to have an SUV becasue of the space (I upgraded from a '92 Cavalier) But from the start I had problems getting it started (which turned out to be a fuel pump issue that we figured out 3 years later). I, like a lot of other people on here, had fuel gauge problems, even after the pump got fixed - and I replaced the wheel bearings and ball joints twice! Gas mileage stinks - even for an SUV - and it doesn't really handle that well. I was always replacing brakes and rotors -and the spare tire blocking all the rear visibilty was brutal. If you are not in 4WD, it's terrible in the snow - and even in 4WD it's marginal at best.
Favorite Features
Privacy glass, 4WD, space

I'm glad they discontinued this model. But I'm kind of soured on the whole Chevy experience now, even though that was my third. I'm going Hynudai or Honda.
