This is a very common failure in the S10 series. The pin and bushing sets are available at most autoparts stores. One tool you might want to buy/borrow is the door spring compression tool. It makes the job much easier and safer. Good luck

Hey there fellas, My Blazer's driver side door has started to sag. I have looked at the door hinge and it looks like the top hinge on the door has sprung it's spring and the metal bushing has broken in half and is not there within the hinge pin area. My Blazer has just started to have some problems with the transmission not wanting to go back into neutral and start in first gear. I am having the same problem with my transmission in my 1997 Chevie Blazer. Does anyone have an answer on how to solve this problem. I have had shift solenoids and valve body gasket replaced. Neither worked. Does anyone have an answer to how this can be fixed?

It sounds to me like you have a speed sensor problem. The ECM need the speed sensor input to tell the tranny to shift since it is electronic. It might be as simple as a loose wire. Get your mechanic to check the sensor and wiring for you speedometer.

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy that wont shift out of first or second gear and the speedometer quit working as well. When the speedometer works it will shift into all gears fine. Any suggestions?
I have 3 possible remedies for you. 1. You can try and add a can of "Trans X". I get mine at WalMart for about $6.00 2. If option 1 does not work you may need to have the valve body and solenoids replaced. If you do this also replace the wire harness in the trans. it works but the transmission is missed up i have to but in 2nd gear or 1st then drive then keep changing it until it kicks in then it will go 30 or 40 tell me do i have to buy a new transmission or can i fix it tell me what i should do :)

The electrical problems you describe on your Jimmy sound like a(or more) wires shorting to ground. I think you should take it to a reputable repair shop.Preferrably a Chevrolet or GMC dealer. Have a 1997 Chevy Blazer, my heat will not turn on when i put the switch on at all. Like other trucks it will work when it wants to and then couple days later i will get in it and it will work all on its own any ideas as to what the problem is. Thanks

The fuel pressure regulator on the 4.3 eng. is located @ the back of the intake manifold, behind the throttle body. The manifold has to be taken up to be replaced.

I had the same problem on My GMC Jimmy and turn out to be the rear door switches. They have and adjustment if they are too much inside they wont touch the door and the light will stay on. Try pulling the inner part of the switch out with a set of pliers and adjust to the right distance...Good luck.

My son just got this Blazer and the guy told him the dome lights stay on when car is off and all doors are closed. He pulled out the fuse so the battery would not drain down. If this was a Chevy Blazer I'd say look at the relay and the wiring and connector to the pump. Relays go bad and connectors get loose and corroded. Also check the ground wire probably pump to frame which means the engine to firewall strap (on a Blazer) must be in place. I don't do Fords.

Doen't the headlight switch have a dome override button - if that shuts it off its probably the headlight switch - contains all the auto headlight crap in it.

Price is OK with the trade. Low book is about $7700, & it's a high maintenance vehicle for most owners. My transmission just died yesterday. The car only has 56,000 miles. The 4WD encoder motor went out at 40,000 miles. This car is a total piece of crap. I assure everyone, this will be the last Blazer I will ever own. The slogan "Like a Rock" means the car is a financial rock pulling you down until you get rid of the piece of crap that it is.
