Me and my wife had a similar problem with a 1992 Honda Accord. We had replaced the distributor to solve a problem with an engine code reporting a failure of the TDC position sensor. The car worked fine for a few days. Then, after driving the car for about 20 miles, the car sputtered. Less than a minute later, the car completely died. I couldn't start it again for at least ... Hi, I just fixed a friends 99 blazer that sounds like it had the same problem. Old fuel pump died and she had someone install a new pump and also a new filter. Then it began to run/studder like yours. It took me a while to figure out but here was the fix for her car (runs great now). The new filter that she had installed was the wrong one. Looks ... Sounds like a classic coil problem. Check to see if you are getting spark when the engine dies.
1992 starting, then stalling
Written by: lesahudson on Feb 11, 2008 8:31:25 AM
I have a 1992 chevy blazer that will start and run for about 5 minutes, until it gets warm and then stall. It will restart after it cools down, but then stalls again. I have replaced the fuel pump. Do you have any suggestions. Money is tight, and I can't afford to make costly repairs, that won't fix the problems. Thanks

I have a 1992 chevy blazer. It will start, run for about 5 minutes (until it is warm) then shut off. It will restart after it cools off (20 - 30 minutes). It seems to run fine, until it shuts off. I have replaced the fuel pump. Do you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem.
Leak is coming from the seals between that casting you are looking at (connection for remote mounted filter) and the block. With age and heat the seals get hard and then leak. Good thing is they are cheap to buy at your Chevy dealer. Bad thing is they are hard to replace. Two bolts hold the thing in place and are not hard to get out. getting your hand up there ...
