EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE:
Overall
Aveo is truly the big little car that offers a sense of luxury uncommon in other subcompacts. It may take more than this, however, to compete with solid products from some very strong competitors.
DETAILED EDITORS' RATINGS
Dynamics
Offers better handling and overall confidence than many of its competitors although performance is not the goal of vehicles in this class.
Comfort
Seats are quite comfortable and easily accessed. There is headroom galore although the legroom is lacking. Its class-leading interior space makes the car feel much larger than it really is.
Function
Interior controls are simple in layout and easily used. Cupholders leave a lot to be desired. Rear seats fold down to add storage space to an already large trunk. MP3/iPod jack is standard.
Design/Build Quality
Use of materials on the interior (including leatherette upholstery) are top grade and lead the segment. Build quality is very good inside and out. Wind and road noise are on par with other vehicles in its class.
Daily Commuter
A combination of fuel economy and comfort make this an ideal choice.
Economical Transportation
Relatively inexpensive for its segment.
Fuel Efficient
EPA estimates close to 30 mpg.
