aveo engine noise
I just took my 2005 Aveo 5 SVM to a Chevy Dealership Service Department in Virginia because of an unknown engine noise at 41,xxx miles. An independent mechanic diagnosed an alternator problem so I'm getting a second opinion. Anyway I took it in and started asking about my powertrain warranty and they said I have none because it did not start until 2007 model year. ... Read More...
Re: 2007 Chevrolet Aveo MAJOR Electrical Problems [poncho167]
I posted incorrectly now while looking at it. The Aveo used to have a 5-year or 60,000 mile powertrain warranty that was changed to 5-years, 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. Read More...
Re: 2007 Chevrolet Aveo MAJOR Electrical Problems [bethere99]
Your engine should have a minimum of a 5-year/60,000 mile engine warranty if I recall. I believe it was changed to 10-years in the later 2007. The engine warranty covers alternators if I am not mistaken. The power train warranty that GM has is actually better than most as far as the parts covered. Read More...
Re: 2007 Chevrolet Aveo MAJOR Electrical Problems [shortychell]
Did you ever find out what the problem was? I gave my daughter a 2007 Aveo and she believes the alternator went out on it at 40K miles, 4K miles past the warrantee. She told me the car lost lights and she had to charge the battery 3 times to get it home. The new alternator is $550.00 plus labor...total estimate is around $850.00 (with diagnostic test). Please let me know ... Read More...

2007 chevy aveo
I have a 2007 chevy aveo with 20k miles that is having some transmission problems. I have a manual tran that makes a very loud rattling noise in 3rd-5th gear (you can hear with the music cranked to full) that started a few months ago.. It also feels like the transmission is getting loose. I brought my car into chevy to get it checked and they did not hear it, i guess they ... Read More...
Sicilian Aveo Trip
Surprised to find an Aveo forum!! There are VERY few of them here in Georgia, at least outside Atlanta. But I just got back from a visit home with my wife for several weeks, to Palermo, Sicily. A friend of mine from Virgina whose job means he LIVES on planes used miles to come over for a week, and we borrowed my father-in-law's 2007 hatch Aveo (called a Chevrolet Kalos ... Read More...

Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Failure?
I have a 2007 Chevy Aveo LS 1.6L automatic. My check engine light came on about 2 weeks ago. I took it to Autozone to have it test coded. It came up with 2 codes. PO700 and PO705. First...PO700 is "Transmission Control System Malfunction"......and PO705 is "Transmission Range Sensor malfunction (PRNDL Input). I did some research and with opinions from others ... Read More...
Chevrolet Aveo Starting/Stalling Problems
Cheveo Aveo stalling
Though my Aveo hatchback is a 2007, it is a new car - one of the 2007 leftovers - that I bought in April of this year. I have gone only 1,000 miles with it, and it is stalling under dangerous circumstances. It is with a Chevrolet dealer who so far has not been able to diagnose the problem. Anybody got any ideas? The car stalled twice in the middle of a highway, and there is ... Read More...
