2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 2WD

When my truck reaches 70 mph it starts making a flapping noise by the drivers side windshield door frame brace. At first thought at first that the front windshield might not be sealed tight but it was checked out and alright. I also checked the black rubber strip that covers the hood bracket bolts. Again this was not the problem. The noise is not coming from the door ... Read More...

Chevrolet Avalanche Brake Questions

Re: Chevrolet Avalanche: Brakes [kcram]

I am having th same problem with my 2002 Avalanche. When I changed my disc pads, the back discs were completely gone and the front pads were almost new. I don't think it is using the front pads. How can I check this or what should I try to replace. Stopping down hill or at speed is scary. I think this problem has been progressive. I drove the vehicle all the time and did ... Read More...

Chevrolet Avalanche Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Just picked up a pewter Z71 Avalanche, loaded with everything. I didn't read all the posts so I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet. The 1st Avalanches off the line were base priced $720 less than they are know. At some point they were raised $220 and then a month or 2 ago raised the other $500. So the idea here is to try to find one on the lot thta has been there a few ... Read More...

Chevrolet Avalanche

We have a 2002 Avalanche 2wd Z66 and haven't yet had experience in snow or other poor conditions, but from all that I've read and seen on the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club forum, current 02's with traction control alone do quite well in such conditions. It's actually one of those times that unless you really want it or are going far off-road, 4wd just isn't needed. So why ... Read More...
