Only one with a full frame
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LS Rwd 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Long term experience very good. Holds up very well. Built like a tank. Has steel reinforcement behind plastic bumpers. Only item replaced: Alternator.
Favorite Features
No left door to worry about; rear door (s) design; full frame
Suggested Improvements
Light under hood; switch for rear light; better engine layout, more leg room. There is a definite requirement for a TRUCK type van, not a passenger car converted into a "van" which is nothing more than a glorified station wagon.

Best mid-sized van ever
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LS Rwd 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This is the 4th Astro that I have owned in 9 years, and each one has been better the the last. I averaged about 90,000 to 100,000 miles on the last three and already have 1600 on the 2005 Astro. I love it.
Favorite Features
Automatic headlights on at dusk, door lock/unlock with the transmission shifter, back seat audio port, new seat belts in front, overhead information center.
Suggested Improvements
GM has discontinued the Astro, so there will be no 2006. I feel this is a bad move on their part.

Astro Van
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LT Rwd 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I own and show dogs. The Astro van is perfect size for transporting dogs and crates. Crates are easily stacked for the smaller breeds. I have had no problems with this van.
Favorite Features
Size is the important factor. It's perfect.
Suggested Improvements
Everything is perfect as is.

Strong Player in a small package
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LT Rwd 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I was pleasantly pleased with the towing ability, with a 21' Sports Boat. The 4.3 liter engine seems bullet-proof. I would bet it would take an additional $ 15,000.00 worth of vehicle to do what the Astro does. The style seems current, sure the design is dated. The engineering is still proven, basic, simple and reliable. Fuel economy is better than expected. Just a strong little work horse.
Favorite Features
Rear wheel drive, simple durable. Works well on slippery boat launch ramps, and in snow.
Suggested Improvements
More front leg room. Less squeaks and rattles.

Best Of Breed
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LT Rwd 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)

Will never own another minivan. We show our German Shepherds in AKC events. All our "stuff" fits with room to spare. Other minivans are too small. Ride is strong not mushy, interior comfort is great. This is our 3rd Astro. Our 1st is still on the road with over 200K miles. The 2nd is still running with only 150K miles.
Favorite Features
Interior space, comfort

Chevrolet Astro Van AWD
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LS AWD 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This is the 5th Chevy Astro Van I have owned. They are great vans. Better than having a truck because they get better gas milage and quiet running. I just bought a new one and still own two older ones. One has 165000 miles(1994) and the other one 106000 (2000) and they are still running great. I maintain them and have not had any major problems with any of them. They are great on long trips with family, we have even taken out the seats and camped in them overnight. They are also great for carrying building supplies. I like them better than a truck because you can use the whole vehicle and have heat and air and spread out and be comfortable. I get great gas mileage doing a lot of highway miles.
Favorite Features
Roominess inside. The separate front and back heat and air conditioning controls. The rear dutch doors that open nicely. The sliding side door is great for large objects. Outside temperature. Comfortable seats.Storage drawer under the passenger front seat Great gas mileage. Not expensive like suvs. Stylish
Suggested Improvements
More leg room on the front passenger side for their legs. People riding in the front have expressed that to me. Fold into the floor seats would help instead of having to take them out before leaving home. Being able to turn the two back seats facing each other and have the seat belts work both ways

2005 Chevrolet Astro LS AWD 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This is my second Astro. I also have a 1989 with 107k which I purchased new and is still going strong. I just purchased this 2004 as GM is supposed to stop making the Astro/Safari in 2005.
Favorite Features
A strong vehicle with a Frame based on a Van not a car. All Wheel Drive for snow. Rear wiper an defogger. CD player. Rear Air.
Suggested Improvements
The foot room in front. GM to keep making them past 2005.

I LOVE MY ASTRO VANS!!!!!
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Astro LT AWD 3dr Minivan (4.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I have TWO Astro Mini-vans, and I love them!!! My first is an '89, has 140,000 miles on it, and is still on the road. My new one has the AWD and extended features which are absolutely GREAT!
Favorite Features
I love the "high up" feature so that I can see well ahead of me when driving. The AWD feature is super in the rain and snowy weather. And, the high ceiling is great for moving around inside. Rear defogger & wiper are nice improvements too!
Suggested Improvements
Same old problem with cramped leg space for the front seat passenger. And, I only get 16 mpg which seems low for a mini-van.
