Most electric cars are all about saving the environment and driving in a sedate manner to conserve as much battery as possible to maximize the car's rather minuscule range. Well, the Tesla Model S is not most electric cars. With hundreds of miles of range, we felt quite confident in tapping into its enormous power potential at our test track. Acceleration was tested with 0-60 and quarter-mile tests, while braking was calculated using 60-0. Handling tests included a timed slalom and two trips around a skid pad to generate a lateral acceleration calculation.
