If you're about to buy a new car, being up to speed on the sales performance of different vehicles in the market can provide you with helpful insight. If a vehicle is a hot seller, a dealer may be less inclined to negotiate on price. On the other hand, that model gathering dust in the back of the lot may represent a golden opportunity for those seeking the sweetest bargains.

With this in mind, here are last month's 10 best-selling vehicles. Included is each model's monthly sales total. Keep in mind that our sales figures are more granular than those reported elsewhere. Instead of lumping all Ford F-Series sales into a single number, for example, we report separate numbers for the F-150, F-250, F-350 and F-450. As a result, our rankings may differ slightly from those published in other sources.

Be sure to visit our Incentives and Rebates page to learn about current incentive and rebate offers before you buy. And check out our Deals of the Month page to find our picks for the best deals. You might also find the vehicle you're interested in offered through Edmunds.com's Price Promise® program.

I don't know where you guys are getting those sales figures from, but the Hyundai Elantra had 22,100 units sold in April, and 63,303 total units sold thus far. It has clearly out sold it's big brother, the Hyundai Sonata as well as the Corolla and CRV. This is according to the Wall Stree Journal: http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3022-autosales.html Just FYI.
