DETROIT — The Volvo Concept XC Coupe, which hints at the 2015 Volvo XC90, will make its world debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The concept is the second of three Volvo design studies that showcase the brand's styling direction.

"The Concept XC Coupe builds on the Volvo's proud history of Cross Country and XC products," the automaker said in a statement on Wednesday.

A YouTube video of the concept shows a similar look to the Volvo C30, which was discontinued earlier this year.

The new concept also bears a family resemblance to the Volvo Concept Coupe, which debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The Concept XC Coupe will be revealed on January 13.

Edmunds says: The third member of the Volvo design trilogy is expected to debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show and may be the best indication of what the 2015 Volvo XC90 will look like.
