HERNDON, Virginia — Volkswagen will be part of the advertising blitz at the 2014 Super Bowl, the company announced on Friday.

The German automaker scored big during the 2011 Super Bowl with a Star Wars-themed commercial starring the 2012 Volkswagen Passat and a pint-sized Darth Vader. The commercial is widely considered to be the best auto commercial ever shown during the Super Bowl.

No word yet on which Volkswagen vehicle will be featured in the upcoming event. The company said that the new spot "is uniquely Volkswagen."

"Volkswagen gladly accepts the challenge of keeping fans smiling during the Big Game's commercial break," said Vinay Shahani, Volkswagen of America vice president of marketing, in a statement.
